Going Offshore

Does it piss you off that a "fucking idiot" makes more money than you?

No. Because with Sheen I'm sure it'll be easy come and easy go.

This, but for totally different reasons than you. I don't get the time trade off and hassle that goes into the logistics and implementation of doing that 5 flags bull shit or going through these avenues of setting up holding companies, transferring assets, researching various tax laws; you can throw me into the "you're doing it wrong" camp with dsiomtw. When I get to 7 figures in my account, and I'm not posturing like some people on WF, I've got a ways to go (have I told you about my startup?) my biggest concern will be getting to 8, not looking for a condo in Kazakhstan. If you like traveling and working in various locales, fine, but then you'd be doing it when you were making $100,000 and not waiting for $100,000,000. I just don't get total lifestyle changes predicated on avoiding taxes, are you gonna have them chisel your final bank balance on your tombstone?

I never said anything about tax evasion. Stop putting words in my mouth and making assumptions you prat.

Hong Kong is my home and I love Chinese culture. I also love the simple regulatory environment here that would give any Libertarian a raging hard on.

I don't miss the US at all and haven't been back since.

Nor did I, do you see the word evasion in my response? Evasion is criminal, avoiding is legal with varying levels of pains in the ass. Don't be so sensitive prat.

Don't be so sensitive prat.

Well aren't you clever!

My point still stands though. I never said anything about tax avoidance either! You're making a lot of assumptions.

Besides we're right back to you being small minded anyway. Someone who is earning large sums of money usually hires competent professionals to do tax avoidance research. They don't actually do the research themselves.

I think what you're missing here is the fact that the richer you are in the USA, the more money you lose to the government, in an increasingly unfair amount.

In your example, getting to 8 might be surprisingly harder for you than you'd imagine without some seriously creative accounting.

If you love Georgia, fine, then by all means your best bet is to find one hell of a creative accountant and he'll help you get to 8 by using lots of S-corps and tax shelters that you can do from Georgia.

However if you've ever traveled to a nicer country than the US, like so many of us on this board have, then you wouldn't want to waste your money on that peach-growing dirt you've got down there.

Usually once people get rich enough, they travel.
Once people Travel, they Usually find something better than what they had.
Once people find something better, they find a much nicer Tax situation at that point too.

--->Because many countries out there offer a better tax situation than living in the US! (Or staying a US citizen.)

Sorry bro, I was responding to lukep originally, I couldn't be bothered with whether you or somebody else started this thread. I haven't paid you enough mind to make a single assumption about you (sorry if that's a bruise to the ego).

And yet here you are on WF looking for advice (I'll let you connect your own dots)

Nice try saving face, but you clearly were responding to me since you quoted me.

I didn't start this thread nor have I been looking at the "Shooting The Shit" section for advice. I view this section strictly for my own amusement.

You and your beloved Cartman really do have a lot in common though. I'm not surprised he's your avatar.

Anecdotal but I'd posit getting from 7 to 8 is easier than getting from 6 to 7, and I'm talking liquid, not total assets (and unless somebody on WF screenshots their bank account I'm assuming they're speaking anecdotally as well).

If you love Georgia, fine, then by all means your best bet is to find one hell of a creative accountant and he'll help you get to 8 by using lots of S-corps and tax shelters that you can do from Georgia.

Wut? I don't give a tiny rat's ass about Georgia, regardless, you can't use tax avoidance to get to 8 from 7, you can only avoid possibly getting busted down from 8 to 7. (You gotta earn it before it can be taxed)

However if you've ever traveled to a nicer country than the US....

The rest of your point is based on the quoted conjecture so there is no point in discussing. I've been to Germany and Italy, loved 'em, but still prefer the US, BlueChinaGroup likes Hong Kong, to each his own.

So THIS is where trolls come from...

And I thought it was when Ogres had that special feeling for Gnomes...

Not trolling you, for the most I was actually trying to have an actual discussion, with BlueChinaGroup too, but he thought I was accusing him of income tax evasion when I wasn't and it kind of went to shit from there.

Your money toad seems to be missing a leg. Poor fella is handicapped, of course he's only going to jump for cash. How else is he going to pay his medical bills?

See my response to lukep above. The intention of my quote of you was misinterpreted and was not an accusation, and when you got defensive I had some fun with it and broke your balls a little (and vice versa), you can keep on it if you want but we both have better things to do with our time.

This. IMO it's pretentious whenever someone asserts that you're uncouth if you want to live in America.

STAY AWAY from CapitalConversator their CFO is an ex-ponzi banditleader with INTERPOL ARREST WARRANT currently moving between safehouses in Uruguay! money mule got arrested 13 months ago in Macedonia carrying cash us$300m of unknown origin. CEO bailed him out and since the whole thing has been on the down and down. Use at your own risk. Ian Sawyer III is connected to these snakes through his phantom new-zealand bank which is the reason Orlin fled to Costa rica in the first place!!

Holy blast from the past.

Regarding CapitalConservator, I don't quite share the above poster's enthusiastic bile, but yeah -- you'd be well-advised to stay away, or take very small steps and just ignore them when they start talking to you about exciting opportunities in Eastern European wine exports or whatever.

The fact is that you need to make a lot of money, many millions, to START worrying about "this offshore shit." -There is no legit reason for it otherwise anymore, none at all.

...

The only time one needs to deal with offshore money now is when there are tax loopholes for big dollars, plain and simple. -Trying to do it otherwise is like riding the little yellow bus to school.

Unreal. I actually agree with you on something. That is the point I was making. Anyone who makes enough to benefit from offshore shit isn't here on WF asking about it, and conversely, anyone asking about offshore shit on WF doesn't make nearly enough to benefit from it.

The only people that come on forums like this and ask about offshore shit are people with big dreams but no experience actually making big money.

They think A LOT about what they're going to do when they make X, how bad it's going to suck paying taxes on X, how they are going to structure/hide/invest/etc their X amount, what romantic country they should move to, on and on. What they don't realize is that shit doesn't work like that, and they never will until they make the X and get there.

You lukep are not there (remember, you've posted your earnings in previous threads), so trust me when I say you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. You are still in the group that likes to obsess over what they are going to do with the money they haven't even made yet.

As I've said at least 3 times already, if you want to own multiple homes or move to some 3rd world country for good reasons, then go for it. But don't think that saving on taxes is a good reason to do it, because it's not.

(Although I guess if you want true freedom but can only figure out how to make $250k a year and need a way to stretch that as far as you possibly can I can see why you might consider it ...)

Go ahead - name us one US-born highly successful entrepreneur who renounced his citizenship or did some 5 flag bullshit for the SOLE purpose of saving on taxes...

I remember you now ... you're the genius who thinks that an MFA network is a real, solid business. I'm done responding to you, and I would put you on ignore so all of your posts are invisible to me if there was a way to do it...

If that was the point you were making, you probably should have done a better job typing it. -That's not at all the point it sounded like you were making.

Ha. I have never, ever posted my earnings anywhere online. Get your forum-mates straight.

I remember you now ... you're the genius who thinks that an MFA network is a real, solid business.
If you owned half as many blogs as me you'd have no doubt too. It's a numbers game, much like PPC is... Just no paying for traffic.

...And thanks for the Genius title. Perhaps that will go in my User description one day... "Genius according to dsiomtw" -Has a nice ring to it... ;)
