Just a heads up for those of you who had your accounts paused for review. Mine was down for over a month and I figured it was a dead horse. Suddenly in the last few days it must have got the green light and they started sending traffic to my campaigns. The only problem is that a few of the landers don't exist anymore. Ouch, didn't realize it until the $2500 billing threshold.

Check your shit, pause if it will let you.
 


what I wanna know is how you spent $2500 in the matter of I am guessing a few days. I can't even get enough traffic for $100 to $200 a day.
 
Had the same thing with an adwords campaign 2 weeks ago.. suddenly went active after 6 months or so, domain expired :-/
 
Makes you wonder if that shit is on purpose. MS or Google needs an extra few million this month so they reactivate a few thousand "dead" accounts that aren't paused, knowing the owner isn't paying attention...

true and their estimates are way off. one day they said your budget is low, raise to $200, next day same message but raise the budget to $1500? lol

only a few niches have buttloads of traffic on bing rest is all owned by G

100% on purpose. I bet they review, see the page is down so activate it.
 
I fucking HATE Google...had my reps in the office the other day and all they do is give you canned fucking lawyer responses! It doesn't matter that I've been an advertiser since the inception of the company or that I've spent literally millions of dollars with them over the years...they ban my sites yet let other companies continue to advertise the exact same offer in the same way.

They claim I'm "information harvesting" and that I need to give the consumer access to valuable information without requiring them to register. So all of a sudden I'm doing something wrong? And I'm a direct advertiser...own my own offers...not an affiliate!

If you're not a major "BRAND ADVERTISER" then good luck in the future advertising with Google as they want all lead flow sites gone so they can get into your space and take the lead dollars instead of the click dollars...only makes sense since there's a lot more money to be made IMO.

Google is a fucking reincarnation of the Gestapo....just waiting for the knock on the door!

If your powers of observation are any indication of how you run your campaigns I can see why Goog bans you. Probably because

Okay a serious question here, why didn't you build something that would satisfy them and try to run at lowered but still profitable ROI?

Basically build a fake content site with like 20-50 articles where they're all just pre-sell for your lead capture form.

Would play by their rules on front end while still be sneaky enough to capture the leads at the end of the process.

Instead of bitching about a situation that you will never be able to bend to your will, do as JoseArmando suggests and play within the rules while pushing the envelope to the max a step or two before "the ban" happens.
Google really only has as much power over you as you allow them to have.

If Google is your only bread and butter, you're fucked anyway dude. Hang up your gloves now, you've lost the fight.
 
Had the same thing happen with an Adcenter Account. It was a nice surprise actually. Fortunately for me I had the budgets turned down when it came back on. I must admit that the traffic died off only a few days after it turned back on. It isn't completely dead yet, but definitely seems suppressed given the bids and CTR in the account.
 
All I know is my that my CTR's on Bing are garbage. Talking about .10-.20% rates. The ROI is there, but my shit CTR is giving me shit volume.
 
.10-.20%? Do you have shitty ads? Either that your probably bidding on unrelated stuff.

I get ctr anywhere from 5-10%

Nope, bidding on related keywords. My avg positions place me in the top 4 spots. My CPC is in the 10c-15c range, which gets me a sweet ROI. The competition is weak for my keywords (brand name keywords). But, the CTR for all my ads is fucking crap, for today my best is .40%.
 
I've already gone around Google and set-up another site (outside of my normal adwords account with a cc) with a different domain that actually has been performing well. I've made adjustments to the banned site and am awaiting review from the Google "quality assurance fucks" so hoping to hear back next week.

I have a lot of other sources of traffic and in fact Google is just a drop in the bucket these days so it's not a revenue or profit loss that i'm bitching about it's the way Google operates their company that ticks me off.

When you've been doing this for 12 years like me you get fed up really easily :) I agree it's time for me to move on into another realm as I need a new challenge, but I'm committed until Feb 2012 so my next venture will have to wait.
