Just curious what my best plan of action is given the situation... As I know PayPal has some messed up dispute rules.

My girlfriend has wanted this blender for a while... I don't know shit about it, besides the fact that it's expensive. She tells me which one she wants, we find a decent price, from a seller with 10K+ feedback on eBay (all 100% positive), click buy and it's here in less than a week. Great.

She opens it up, and is immediately disappointed. I have no idea why obviously, it's a blender, same make she wanted...

Apparently it's about 3 models down (she paid for the 1000 series or something and we were sent the 700) - and it's also not "stainless steel finished" like she had ordered. It's plastic. Everything but the blade and motor.

So I'm thinking "ok no problem, we'll just talk to the seller and then go to ebay/paypal dispute if they turn out to cause trouble..." BUT THEN I REMEMBERED.... PayPal will not accepts disputes for items that are not "significantly different" or whatever from the eBay listing... imho this is not "significantly different" in function or looks, but we did just get ripped off about $200 USD.

Looking at the seller's 100% feedback, obviously I doubt there would be any trouble at all. But if I contact the seller and admit receipt of a blender, same make, but different model and color... is that enough for PayPal/Ebay not to dispute the claim?

TL;DR I bought a blender on eBay. Received the wrong model and color. Should I simply state they sent me a jig-saw puzzle instead by mistake and demand a refund from the start?

You didn't get what you paid for, tell the seller they sent you the wrong model. May have been a simple mistake. If that doesn't work open a dispute with ebay/paypal.

That was my immediate thought.

But if the seller is non compliant. Is a different model number and color enough to warrant a refund?

Never knew blenders where such serious biz.

Go to the seller first and tell him what happened. If he doesn't resolve it, then threaten to leave bad feedback.

If none of that works, start a dispute with paypal.

If you paid with a credit card through paypal, do a chargeback.

Ask for a refund or to get the error fixed, you'll need to file a dispute if s/he does not fix/refund it.

It is significantly different dude... It's a different model for fucks sake. Ask the seller first, then if he does not cooperate, then escalate with PP.

why are you being such a pussy about it and not talking to the seller about it? He sent you the wrong model and your asking people if you think its ok to be pissed about it and ask to get it changed. lol wtf.

Talk the seller and let them know the problem. Even if they don't want to replace it or refund the money, you'll win the case 100% with eBay. When will end up happening is eBay will tell you to return the item back, and once the tracking # confirms that the item was received, eBay will give you your money back from the seller's account.

It's significantly different, it's made out of plastic rather than metal. Not being significantly different would be a slightly different shade of turqoise(sic?) from the picture.

What the fuck is this shit? You didn't get what you ordered. Mistakes happen. Take off your skirt and pick up the phone or send an email telling them the issue and ask for an RMA # or other way to confirm your return. How the hell have you gotten through life while being incapable of solving something as simple as this?

Next are you going to start a thread asking the Ass Wiping/Shit Taking Gurus if it's better to wipe your ass front to back or back to front? "Should I use a quilted TP or something that has Aloe in it?"
