KingMurtha question for ya; Do articles posted on said G-News site tend to rank highly just based on it coming out via the news section or whats the biggest benefit is it instant article ranks - long term or the juice for the links in the article?

Well, article posted on G news site usually rank 1-2 for its KW in G news.

So for longterm it is traffic as well as link juice.
