Who has a travel trailer?

My lease is up next month and most of my friends have moved to different states over the past few years. Since my work can follow me anywhere, I've decided to get a travel trailer and spend the next 6-12+ months traveling the country. Living in small spaces isn't an issue with me.

I'm looking for some advice on quality brands, etc... I definitely do not want a motorhome or a fifth-wheel... just a small travel trailer. I was looking at the CrossRoads Slingshot, but even that seems too big to me. Basically I just want something that is really good quality and anywhere from $5,000-$20,000 (lower the better). Size really isn't an issue as long as it has a bathroom, shower, kitchen, and bed.

Any recommendations on brands or specific models?

Good luck. I'm planning to buy a Road Trek Agile in the future and living it permanently.

And when I'm bored, I'll park it somewhere, and fuck off to other countries for months on end. (Euro and Asia comes to mind. Gonna bang some International pussies)

I've been looking at tiny house plans (and the blog) for like 5 years now. I have some land I'm going to build one on once more people move into the area (it's in the middle of nowhere, so there is no water, sewer, etc... but a company bought up the land around me to build a little neighborhood within the next few years).

I've been in the teardrops before and they're a little smaller than what I think I could handle (and I've never actually seen one with a bathroom). I at least want to be able to stand up.

That camper van is badass. I didn't even think of using something like that... I couldn't spend that amount of money, but there are some nice ones in my price range and it would save me from having to purchase a separate tow vehicle.

Now this is what I was looking for... So far this seems to be about the perfect size and price out of everything I've looked at lately. And I just found a dealer in my area that has a new 2010 model for $7k. I'll be looking at it tomorrow.

All of my friends have wifi, but as long as I'm in a Sprint coverage area I have a 3G phone that I tether. A family member of mine also has a HughesNet dish and service that they never use. They'd let me take that and I could use it if I really needed it.

More importantly - how will you handle getting laid? I can just imagine the quality of pussy that will come home to your $9k camper for some nightcaps
 
i don't have one, but i was thinking about getting on in the next coming years. Good luck finding one

You're just "roughing it" while your 15,000 sq. ft. mansion on the beach is being built.

A possible downside to that arrangment is if you plan on staying in the same place for a few days and you have the van leveled, things upacked, etc. you will need to either pack it all up or have a bike / scooter to get around to the store, visit, sightsee and such. Sometimes wx, distance, or terrain rules out the 2 wheel options.

I was considering this years ago and decided it was not doable because of lack of internet. If you actually look at Hughsnet you'll see how fucking terrible their shit is. You have terrible restrictions on max upload/download per day (like 500 MB download). Also the speeds are pure shit too.. all for a huge price. Even their best packages are pure shit.

If you rely on Wifi you're not really going to be going anywhere special.

I don't know too much about Sprint 3G, but can't imagine it's much better than Hughesnet.

I'm guessing you're the type that needs some good reliable internet is why I'm saying this.

Oh also, you can't just park your camper anywhere. You'll have to pay campgrounds or whatever and they are often much more money than you'd think. Comparing it to apartment rent - it might be the same.. it depends on if you can find good deals.

if you get something that works though keep us posted.
