Is there any adult affiliate networks like azoogle? I know some adult sites let you promote a # of their sub-sites but is there any really good adult affiliate company?

Also, what adult sites do you guys suggest that pay.

Thanks :)

Interesting. I was thinking about getting into the Adult Webmaster game, but I have a feeling that it's such a saturated market, it would be hard to crack. If I did set up an adult site, I'd make sure it was fully automated so I wouldn't have to mess with it. Any advice, nacho?

The adult game is totally different from mainstream.

In adult, getting traffic is simple, getting tons of traffic even is simple. Converting that traffic to a sale is difficult. You've got Joe Blow surfer looking for free stuff, (which the adult industry loves to give away), and you have to convince him that your stuff is worth him whipping out his credit card and paying money for. I'm not saying it's impossible, it is totally possible and there's billions made in adult yearly. It's just that it's a totally different ballgame. You can expect ratios of 1:2000 to 1:3000 depending on your traffic source. Sponsors lie about the numbers all the time, some only count clicks to their join page to make their ratios look like 1:250 when in reality it's not even close to that.

The best way to succeed in adult is to build your own traffic network. Make blogs, tgps, link lists, top lists and submit galleries, free sites and even the good ole pic posts still work. But try to get bookmarkers coming back, (eventually they'll buy when they get tired of being blasted with ads non-stop). If you can get your network producing about 100K uniques PER DAY, you will be making some good money.

Great reply beegeebers

Bit of food for thought there!
At least you can have fun trying to build up your network.

Out of interest how do you get adult traffic?
Obviously you cant use the big g, msn or yahoo.
But are there organic methods? I would have thought the market would have been too saturated for any organic search engine traffic?

Some Sponsors

Adultadworld offers CPM / Popunders / Blind Clicks
Adult AdWorld : Adult Advertising Network (my reflink)

AvnAds = Adbrite for adults
AVN Ads: The Internet's Adult Ad Marketplace

and sponsor like nachoninja mentioned, from these sponsor you can get content for your site...

i started in adult last october, and i'm making what i consider to be pretty good money for the amount of effort i put into it.

i think one thing that can work, or at least worked for me, is to make things personal...get the surfer attached to you.

i have a main blog that i pour a LOT of my own personality into...i make random posts about my own sex life, my fantasies, etc. in order to build a rapport with surfers, i have a newsletter sign-up, etc. i build relationship with readers. i see nice conversions from that blog.

however, i have two other blogs - one just linked pics and one just text links - and the conversions i see from those are not nearly as good. i think it MUST be about reader loyalty and pre-selling.

I see your point melanie, maybe you just treat adult sites as you would normal sites. In that personality and targeting is still key.

I dont know why but for some reason I always assume adult sites require totally different skill sets, and yes while conversion rates and factors are usually much different. It seems certain things remain the same.

Pm url to your site? [I say pm as im not sure if u can link it in here?]
It'd be good to see how youve done things.

Hey Todd...

Actually, there was a mega network site built by a well known person/group who I will not name. It however died soon after inception ...for a variety of reasons.

i pm'ed you the link to my site.

yeah, that's funny that you say that, because that was actually my original idea was to make an adult site that as closely as possible mimiced a mainstream site and used the same techniques (copywriting, listbuilding) that i'd already been working on in mainstream because i didn't see as much of that in adult so i thought it was a good angle.

These guys always converted the best for me. Their like aff (swinger/sex personals) but I think their design/marketing is better.

There is tons of traffic available in adult, how to get it is easy. How to convert it is the harder part. It is all about personality and making your sites different from the rest. If you do blogs and put some personal touches in them, you'll do better then the generic blogs that use sponsors rss feeds and are just there to give one way links to main blogs.

If you want instant traffic, submit 2 galleries per day to tgps. Make sure your server can handle large amounts of bandwidth though. I've been up to 500 gigs per month at one point in adult pulling in tons of traffic. But like I keep saying traffic is irrelevent if you can't convert it to a sale. Getting 1 gallery posted on the hun will usually blow through your bandwidth allocation for the month unless you have a big plan.

Cheers melanie I checked the, Its pretty well done and as you said, the personal touch really comes through which I guess would help convert a lot more?

Have you noticed better conversions?

Beejeebers:
Where do you get get galleries from to submit to TGP? [Where is TGP?] Sorry I know more about finding adult sites than mastering them lol.

Cos Im about to get a VPS for one of my normal sites, which will have a ton of bandwidth to play with so thought about trying some adult stuff see how I got on, as more of a test really.

be very niche specific

Yep like nachoninja says, look for a niche and make galleries,a blog, etc.
If you make another Teen or Amateur site be prepared to burn tons of bandwidth and make nothing.

Have a look at http://www.cozycampus.com - adult webmaster forum.

I looked at doing some niche tgp stuff (one nice thing about adult is there really is no shortage of "niche" interests to sell :D ). In the end I decided I couldn't be bothered with the potential legal hassle of 2257 compliance / changing obscenity laws (I'm in the UK).

From the research that I did, niche adult appears to have better conversion rates than mainstream. I would suspect it probably has better retention rates too.
