It's because "all of them are horrible, but MY GUY!!!". So "Their guy" gets re-elected and then they get pissed off at everyone else for doing the same.

They are not as upset as you would think with Obama acting a lot like Bush and all. According to this poll of democrats, he has the highest approval rating at this stage among all democrat presidents in the last 60 years.
