Texas Y'all

Wow. My brain went in about 10 different directions while watching that.

Really, I'm just trying to figure it out. Not that it's surprising that white people in Texas are racist. And this is obviously that situation, but it's also more.

Remember how we've all talked about how our neighbors think we're drug dealers? Basically no matter what color you are, if you're young and live in a house like that have have alot of friends over in pimped out cars ...I guess you're a drug dealer. Because obviously, 9-5 is the only legit way to go.

and in that he's black...yeah he never had a chance.

I kinda want to call this guy because this "webmaster" houstonian is kinda mortified.

If I was black Texas is literally the last fucking place I'd set up shop. I wouldn't even move there as a white person.

You're from Houston! I'm spending the summer here for an internship. It's fucking HOT. I don't know how you deal with this every day.

Tell me about it. I run 60 miles a week. I've been doing it in the dark. On weekends I go during the middle of the day and it is unbearable.

I've always heard good things about Austin. Highest percentage of mixed culture couples in the U.S., generally cool people. Maybe they aren't really "real" Texans.

I'm living in San Antonio for an internship for the summer and I hate it. It's my last day and I'm leaving and never coming back to this state. Austin is the only saving grace of this state. It's actually a pretty decent place the few times I've gone and visited.

Thank you for posting the Reporter goes ghetto video - that was really funny.

Also I am withdrawing the claim that the HOA may not have been overtly racist and did not hide it in some way, now that the Fullerton, CA Police have been caught beating and killing a homeless guy - seems like people everywhere are being stupid and getting caught.

No one wants to discuss the underlying issues.

1. Houston - If there is a dominant culture of racism, then a black guy moves in, property values go down because the racists start selling, moving away, and no other racists want to buy there. White racist flight. In essence the racists feel the black guy stole their money (value in the home).

As a result - if I was black I would not move to racist Texas and not expect problems. I would move to California or some more liberal state.

2. Same with Fullerton police. You ever wonder why there are few homeless in Fullerton? Ever wonder why my wife and I can walk anywhere in Fullerton (most of the City) at any time of the night without any safety concerns? because the police are all over every little incident. This time they went overboard. But the City would be a POS if they were not aggressive. Same with Brea, Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills.

You think the Fullerton people want to go downtown with their tree lit streets and deal with the homeless? No. Homeless cause problems and depreciate home values etc.

None of this is right or moral in any way shape or form. But you can see the elephant in the room is that the surrounding society usually supports such behavior - they just do not talk about it.

Austin's cool. I lived there for the past year. Good music, good food, etc. Allergies are HORRIBLE.
