it is not really a dumb move at all...and that is what is sad lol.

Israel has a LARGE influence on the United States' actions...at this point they can do no wrong. Lately (IMO pretty much all the time throughout history basically), pleasing the Israel lobby often comes before pleasing the representative desires of U.S. citizens.

seriously though, i'd hope at this point that THE MAJORITY of united states citizens want this shit done with...2 state solution, 1967 borders, stop the settlements, etc. but our own government's actions speak louder than our citizen's desires. im just waiting for us to help them with Iran...should be an interesting year.

To me this just takes the Israel-US relationship to a whole new level. This is no longer just a "support for Israel"... fuck it almost feels like "We ARE Israel". Never underestimate the power of Jewish-Americans in the US' political landscape. The opinion of John Smith the farmer from North Dakota is sooo irrelevant when it comes to these decisions.
 
The UN is a mickey mouse organisation, it was set up be the US and Western Europe in order to prevent a ww3.

More important it's just a tool to control the third world countries, if third world countries defy the UN resolutions they get fucked.

The Western powers use that as a pretext to launch a war/intervention on said country.

But the UN has no say over western powers, if they want to break UN rules and invade a country like Iraq, the UN is powerless.

The UN is hypocritical, it should be disbanded.

Apparently the UN is ok when it votes in favor of Jews. When it votes in favor of Arabs it`s not ok anymore.

Where were all the soundbytes about how a settlement must be negotiated, back in those days? No Arabs ever agreed through negotiations to create Israel, it was imposed onto the Arabs. So I think the double standard is crystal clear.
