I think there's a fine line between scamming people, and people being completely fucking senseless.
I have a contact form on one of my websites that has a required check box that states:
"I understand that [my site name] has NO INFORMATION regarding my order status."
Guess who I always get emails from?
Sorry I dont subscribe to soft sciences. I'll stick to hard sciences and leave the mysticism to the religious and touchie-feelie crowds ;-)
P.S. no such thing as evil... still.

Would you help me make the landing page? I wanna be world #1 life guru or somebody that looks like it.
Can you tell us more about UFO's and BMW's?
All the people they cited in said wikipedia article practice soft science. Riddle me this? How do you explain all the people who had fucked up childhoods (ie most people) who don't grow up to be serial killers?
Furthermore what makes you assume that the fucked up childhood was the cause rather than the symptom of a genetic pre-disposition towards douchbaggery as evident in the primary gene donors (the parents).
And.. that relates to serial killers how?To add to the serial killer debate: Tough childhoods build enormous character in some children, when they overcome the adversities they are faced with young, they grow up to take on challenges head on. They are unstoppable in achieving their accomplishments because they never forget what it was like to feel so powerless, and still surviving their hardships.
The world can no longer dish out anything worse than they have already been through, arming them with a confidence few could ever hope to develop.

BTW a perfect example of a tough childhood creating an amazing character is our beloved Manny Pacquiao. Read up on his childhood and you'll see how damn fucking tough it was.
On the other hand, this is how serial killer Ted Bundy describes his childhood:
"I grew up in a wonderful home with two dedicated and loving parents, as one of 5 brothers and sisters. We, as children, were the focus of my parent's lives. We regularly attended church. My parents did not drink or smoke or gamble. There was no physical abuse or fighting in the home. I'm not saying it was "Leave it to Beaver", but it was a fine, solid Christian home. I hope no one will try to take the easy way out of this and accuse my family of contributing to this. I know, and I'm trying to tell you as honestly as I know how, what happened."
