My fellow Atheists, we have lost one of our best generals...

BBC News - Christopher Hitchens dies from pneumonia

They don't say much yet, just that it was pneumonia, (he was fighting cancer tho.) I think this just happened very recently. (Minutes ago?)

Buddy Christ was Carlin, another great soldier we lost years ago...

Hitch was the General, plain and simple. He was doing the most to suppress religion that I've ever heard of. (Ok, not counting some nutjob like Stalin or Pol Pot.;)

Watch that hilarious film I posted in the OP for a great idea of what his life's work was.

Hope he burns in hell... Jesus is the only way :-). .....ever see the Dane cook episode when he's talking about the tree blowing in the wind???

That's right, I said it.... :-=)

I will not deny that he was smart and had a likable communication style, especially for those that feel they are smarter than the rest of the room (aka most of WF), several of the clips have him gunning for the kill in the argument and yet show a fundamental misunderstanding of Christianity.

I thought he had a great grasp of Christianity and yet these clips were not indicative of this. Hopefully there are more persuasive clips from him than these, these were put together by someone that does not understand Christianity.

Once again, not trolling for the debate, just pointing out that I know Hitchen's had to be smarter and understand Christianity better than the video posted represent. If this is the best there is, well then, that's too bad.

Wow, all three of you in a row... Now we just need Rusky, Hellblazer and Popeye in here and you fairy-worshippers can start you own fucking congregation.

This thread must realy draw you christians out of the woodwork. I wonder why that is?

Think about it for a moment. This vid was obviously put together by one of his fans. Someone who cared hard enough to take the time to slap all these clips together for reasons that make him excited and happy to do.

This person was obviously an atheist.

Would this person be concerned about you or any other theist not getting the impression that he understood every last insinuation of christianity within it?

No, he was obviously putting together a "Best of" cliproll, like the name spells out, and what would be the best of to a person like him?

The biggest one-liners and put-downs. You know, the fun stuff. That's all it shows, the spiking of the ball, not details of his intimiate knowledge of the enemy.

Christopher Hitchens really knew how to tear religion apart, he just does it so eloquently and completely shuts down his opponents. We need more like him on the front lines.

That said, his opinion on America's reaction to 9/11 was absurd.

jesus had enough of his crap and now he is burning in a stew and the next ingredient is richard dawkins
