Cpc has steadily declined over the past few days from .75-$1.00 clicks to 0.10 clicks.

I have one 336x280 ad on the page.

It's a relatively new site (less than 2 weeks old) and I think that may have something to do with it. The only thing that I can attribute the steady decline in CPC to is smart pricing.

Also, I have a custom channel created targetable by advertisers and they can see the description and stuff. I list in the description that the ad will be placed at the top left on the home page.

Any ideas to bring cpc back up? Or is it just taking its natural course.

Edit: WTF happened to the post I quoted that said (basically) it's to early to jump to conclusions, give it a couple of weeks to see how it pans out.

Also, any reason you aren't using a 300 x 250 ad?

If it is Smart Pricing it is due to your content and perhaps your traffic. As Phillip P said give it some time to see how it pans out.

On one of my sites the CPC dances like crazy. This is almost always because of the advertisers bid for the run (targeting different KW's).

Fuck it: "to early" = "too early", now I look a bit thick...

Smart pricing is calculated on a weekly basis.. so give it some time... it might go back up.

Smart pricing will also affect your whole account... so did your other site's CPC tank?

Not drastically like this one.

This particular site receives the most traffic of any of my sites. Gets a very generous amount.

I'll give it some time as this is really the first earning week for the site, I was just unsure since the cpc has decreased by more than 50%

Not really, any reason you asked?

^^^Yeah: 300 x 250 is a more popular ad size - meaning more available ads>more competition>a likely higher CPC...
