Is it? For example I download a thesis theme and use it on my website.
Is it possible to make me harm? Legal issuses, viruses, etc?
Is it possible that the owner of the theme finds it out somehow?

C'mon, man. Just buy a theme, they are cheap as hell and it's worth it to have constant updates. Get a membership with elegantthemes, a whole library for a small monthly fee with all kinds of great shit.

If you pirate a theme and use it, yeah, you could get fucked. Someone could easily hide links to their own site, automatically use their adsense ID instead of yours, and in general make your site insecure for their own gain. And you will have deserved all of it for being such a cheapass. If you don't know shit about themes, it's even more of a reason not to pirate them.

Yeah, I saw it, thank Eskimo! I plan to sell my website in the future and I plan to build other sites too so I had to purchase a normal one sonner or later anyway.

Yes it is generally dangerous to use a pirated theme. Pirates usually add a hidden function in the theme's code. This function can usually be executed remotely and can cause harm to your site. It is not worth the trouble.

Moreover, some theme publishers track all of the websites that use their theme. The publishers obfuscate the part of the theme's code that sends data back to their website.

I've heard as long as you are smart and check for any "special" added code in the theme, you should be fine. Just remember it only takes one fuck up to make you wish you paid the $25.

It's not worth the risk using a pirated theme in my situation.

So one more question: I already uploaded the pirated theme on my site, then I deleted in a few minutes later when I decided I will buy the real one.
My question is: If I deleted it through wordpress then if maybe it was infected or anything, now I'm safe, right?

It's hard to say whether your Wordpress install was infested or not. If I were in this situation, I would reinstall Wordpress just to be safe. But that's just me. If reinstalling is too much trouble, just make sure that the theme is fully deleted by checking your wp-content/themes directory.

If your site is infected, you may not even notice. Most infections simply add hidden spam links around your site. The most dangerous Wordpress infections take over your entire site. An infection on my Wordpress site turned it into a Viagra pharmacy.

Don't be a cheap ass and support developers.
Is it worth risking your business for a $30 theme?. I don't use pirated themes: shit happens, and there're a lot of ass-holes out there. Avoid disgusting surprises and buy a clean, uncompromised theme. Backdoors are common in warez sites.

I agree, pay the $30 dude! As a developer myself, I can tell you it's a small price to pay for all the work that goes into creating these packages. If you can't afford it, there are plenty of nice free WP themes out there.
