And the runner up is...

For-profit enterprise last? Is someone a hippie or does the list go in chronological order?

The world as we know it today is unrecognizable from 50 years ago solely because of for-profit enterprise.

Ive been pretty intense on this topic for a while. Unfortunately, we have fucked up this world so much that all we have to really offer our kids is this round fucked up globe of economic meltdown, poverty, corruption and more. We are literally handing them this ball of mess and telling them "Sorry, You guys Take Care of it Now!"

Want to change the world? Empower your kids. When we are old, they are the ones that will take the earth from all its shit and raise it to glory. At least, I hope.

Hope is the carrot dangling in front of the horse's mouth.

The Final Solution (see what I did there) will be a Matrix/1984 hybrid with robotic/computer fused android human type species.

The reason is finite resources and exponential population growth. Technology cannot fix the issue of finite resources but it can and will definitely make consumption more efficient, hence basically 2 outcomes only with one favored heavily over the other:

1. The solution listed above happens after a massive world war or genocide brings the population down to an acceptable level. Humans are now fused with robotic shit that regrows itself, hooked up to the internet hive brain and all perform basic tasks for centuries. Sort of like the Matrix but more communist, and to maintain semblance of control and living our own lives we will be able to "think" to eachother by transmitting small bits of data. Kind of like posting at forums except instantaneously transmitted and all we do is sit here generating energy and completing tasks, except its all automatic and our brains only take breaks to have a chat. We are able to be fed very very little intravenously since our bodies are 70-80% regenerating robotic parts controlled by our brains which are still fully functional and our own except that its hooked up to the hive mind and controlled by that with only a basic amount of "thought freedom". The Hive is the single government entity and the whole world as we know it then will be hooked up to that.

2. Similar massive world war or genocide which brings the population down to even less than above. Everyone realizes their mistakes and we start doing earth friendly energy alternatives and all have little tomato patch gardens and caring individuals and utopia (lol right). For this to happen though there STILL needs to be a pretty much communist like government to make sure people dont do stupid shit and keep population growth at close to 0%. The probability of this scenario happening is even less than 1.

3. I know I said 2 but theres actually 4, this is 3. No genocide or war but like scifi movies our space exploration and colonization finally happens, we use up all our resources here and start raping and pillaging other planets, having lots of wars and such. Just like Earth is now except all of the universe. This is plausible since the universe is always expanding, so really we could have wars out in space with eachother forever.

4. The world ends by nuclear holocaust or the sun explodes in 3 billion years and we cease to exist.

tldr;

im tired. 1. robot matrix 2. harmonious agrigarian utopia 3. firefly 4. nukes or sun exploding

p.s. sorry Austin I went on a tangent. I meant to say our kids are fucked and so is the World, they will raise nothing to glory and any change will only have minute effects.

FerrisHilton, what about space travel? That could become a very real possibility within say 50 - 100 years.

I think it was even Steven Hawkings who said us humans better learn how to live in space within the next 200 years, or we're going to be extinct.

Exactly! That was the #3 scenario I listed, improbable seeing as how the nearest "Possible" habitable planet is 20 light years away (119 trillion miles).

It's always nice to dream but that is seriously hella far, yo.
