Just discussing the correlation between skin tone and being a prostitute is all.

You know what's ironic, tanned girls are considered hot in Western countries.

I have so many asian friends now that I got influenced by them, dark skinned girl as peasants in this country and low social status. This is ridiculous true if you goto hiso places. Some of the guys might be browner but the chicks are white...
lol
my gf's pretty tanned, drives a $200,000 car and lives 2 houses down from yingluck. there are exceptions to every rule.
Damn, sorry man, you just missed me. As of yesterday I'm back in Kansas, but I just spent January in Bangkok. Would have said hi if you were in town. The next 12-18 months are going to spent overseas for me, doing a mixture of work and holidaying. My first stop is Thailand although I'll be spending ~6 months in south east asia. If anybody wants to meet up/has any suggestions on where I should/shouldn't go let me know.
Would be great to meet some other IMers during my travels!
The real question here is "doing what?" I primarily stay in BKK so that sounds ludicrous to me, but a backwater beach town could easily fit in that range. Then take your purpose for being there (scuba, chicks, work) and your personal standards (X star hotel) and your $ will range all over.My lease is up in November and I am seriously considering moving to Thailand for a good 6 months. From what I've read, most say it's about 1/5 the price compared to the U.S.
After I'd toured the ruins and city in Chiang mai, and taken the stupid cooking class, I was bored out of my mind there. That night market just wasn't acceptable! Meanwhile the daily life in BKK guarantees something new to see and taste every single friggin' day. How can you compare the two?...bangkok is better than hua hin for longer term stays. there's so much to do in bangkok. hua hin there isn't much at all to do but relax. chiang mai would be my next choice after (or even before) bangkok.
One of many reasons I prefer to live in the big city while there. Farang are something like 1/10th of the population there, too many other targets to get caught yourself. You've got to remember that life is cheap in some areas there and the longer you stay the more you can become a target of various "take that farang's assets" schemes, many of which involve violence or murder. It's got nothing to do with "being a pansy".
Krabi! Love it down there.
Don't tell me; You snapped that pic for the sex change lead, didn't you?![]()
its quite fucked up how vain and how available it all is here.

I stayed a week at the Amari resort down there and took a inland tour of Krabi itself. Did the islands, their cute little aquarium, Biked up and down the coastal strip a few miles, great times. Not nearly as many farang as you see up in BKK, even inside the resort... Lots of rich Thais there and few of us whities at all. (Meanwhile 20 miles NE in Phuket you won't find many thais except behind a counter...)
I'd say Krabi is my #2 favorite beach scene, mainly because there is not much pollution in that sea... Walking the beach was awesome and I came across a colony of BILLIONS of tiny crabs that piled up feet high that you could play with near the resort.
Koh Samui is still my favorite though. Simply awesome resorts & sights there.

there was also the top-ranked UFC fighter who got severely beat up by a bunch of Thais. Short blond pretty-boy surfer type... forgot his name
Junie Browning. In my experience of Thailand, having spent between two and three years there - strictly on vacation - if you are respectful and don't act like a drunken aggressive asshole, you won't have problems.
Is there any country where this advice doesn't apply?![]()
