Ok. I'm not balling out of control like some of you are but I ain't broke either.

I still have a full time job and do this one the side for additional income / play money / savings / big purchases / etc.

That said - I NEVER carry cash on me.

I use credit or debit cards for EVERYTHING including fast food or a $1.50 coffee at the gas station.

So Christmas rolls around and I end up with a $100 bill. This goes in my wallet and is promptly forgotten about.

....But knowing I have it in my wallet has given me such a sense of calm I can't even explain.

$20 is too little money for this effect.
$100 in $20s and I'd end up spending it all over a week or 2.

But a $100 bill in my wallet and some of my stress is melted away.
This $100 in my pocket has been better than $30k in the bank. WTF?!

I've decided that this will be a permanent thing and that I'll always have a $100 bill in my wallet at all times.

Anyone else experience this?
Anyone else do something crazy like this?

inb4 OP iz peasant
inb4 OP needs external validation for his feelings.

I had $1167 in my wallet last night but that's because I crush noobs at $1/$2 No Limit at the casino.

I take the $100 bills home, cross out "God" with a black sharpie, then recirculate them.

Jim Rohn trained Tony Robbins to always keep 3 $100 bills wrapped around his cash in his pocket at all times. Why? To build a mindset of prosperity vs. scarcity.

I do it all the time, and the shit works to keep your ass motivated.

I don't get this. Prosperity = the $300 or what?

I'm gonna start sticking up dudes coming out of Tony Robbins seminars

You won't get much. Tony Robbins robs them fuckers blind while before they ever hit the door. Make no mistake, he knows how to get money from people.

And oh yeah, btw he's tight with that Stephen Pierce guy this guy was crying about losing $10k to.

Edit: Scratch that. Thinking I'd cap off this post with a nice photo of Tony and Stephen with arms around each other, I learned I'm dead wrong.

Tony Robbins sued Stephen Pierce

Oh well. Can't win em all.

If $100 in your pocket makes you feel safe/safer, go with it man, I would try and up the sum just to motivate me to make more.
I usually have about $250 with me and keep cash at home, but it never made me feel better. There are different degrees of worrying about money.

*checks pocket*

I got about tree-fitty. (no, really)

that is one good idea, looking for $100 bills...

And if by good idea you mean a Federal Offense then it's a GREAT idea! FYI, banks have to destroy those bills when they get them.

I used to carry cash on me when I was just getting started and broke. I would carry everything I owned on me in 20's so I can open the wallet and see a wad of green.

Now I'm the opposite. I like never carrying cash and if someone needs some I'll use a credit card or wire transfer money using a bank app on the phone (nothing feels better for me than just wiring or checking my phone for a wire).

From "drug money" to SWIFT codes...

Other thing i notice is that $100 in my pocket feels more real than any money might have in my paypal.

Like someone's runt wants me to buy girl scout cookies for $45 cash.... it feels like a lot of money.

Writing a $750 check for X bill doesn't even phase me.

I think its actually GOD who destroys those bills, he has a special finger he uses to burn them, in any case I live in Europe and I do not know the arrangement God and the EU have

I know exactly how you feel ahah.
I keep all my money in the bank apart from a couple hundred in cash.
I usually have 1 hundred dollar bill and some 20's, but the 20's leave my pocket too quickly, the 100 always stays.

*scratches head*

I generally always have $100 - $1200 in my wallet. Simply because is costs me $10 to pull money out of an ATM here, so I always pull out the max of ~$670.
