ADHD I Haz It -- recommendz me Meds pleeze

The solution to having an energetic personality is to take extended release pills of speed...

...yeah that's it

I can assure you that the computer and video games in general are not helping your adhd.

I wonder if they have adhd in Montana, on horse farms....

Sure don't, they trade adhd for bestiality

The amount of stimuli isn't what messes someone up, it's their inability to explore that stimuli.

Then they get built up energy, and energy that's built up inside you with nowhere to be expelled turns into stress/anxiety, and then it snowballs from there where now you have a bunch of "conditions," each needing medicine or therapy...When all you need is to be allowed to explore.

...Perhaps they should go to Montana and explore the horse farms I guess, that would be be swell (get it? get the pun?)

LOL, you should probably consult your doctor for medical advice not a bunch of gay neckbeards.

On a side note you seem like you're functioning just fine, why take meds at all?

As a child I was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and my Dad told the doctor to shove his meds up his ass (thank god). Things like traditional schooling, testing, etc... were extremely difficult for me growing up and I did horrible at most (I worked hard to be a C student). But now that I'm a grown adult I dominate other people my age mentally, financially, and creatively. I can easily jump back and forth between several tasks at once (multi-tasking) with no problems. This has given me a huge advantage in the workplace, and then later when I decided to become an entrepreneur. The brainac "normal" kids have trouble keeping up with me now.

YOu dad is the fucking man Dustin

OP Look into Neurofeedback in your area . Natural way to treat ADHD much better then pills and creates long lasting effect unlike pills

WV and kentucky don't surprise me one bit. Adderall is highly sought as well as oxycodone by poor communities in the mountains, and is cross-sold like crazy. Probably some scummy doctors making deals

it blows my mind that anyone thinks that ADD medications are the real "answer" to add or ADHD.

they are pretty clearly short term solutions that only mask the symptoms (while putting your brain in overdrive), they do not solve the problem and in fact will only leave you worse for the wear when you're done with them.

while i will agree that they work in the short term - to me they (and any other pharmaceutical drug) should only be used in an absolute emergency. though I doubt you're having any ADHD emergencies.

instead, take the (harder, unfortunately) approach of actually looking for what could be causing your ADHD - and the place to start with there are your nutrition and exercise habits.

food is definitely a good place to start.

also if you come back and tell me that you eat 'healthy' because you drink milk and eat whole grains i will eviscerate you.

The root cause of ADHD is not related to external factors. However, external factors like poor diet and lack of exercise can make the symptoms of ADHD worse 10 fold. But I do agree with you that eating correctly and staying active can drastically improve your quality of life, ADHD or not. That being said, a lot of people who have suffered with ADHD their whole lives have developed other mental issues to go right along with it, lack of self-esteem, depression, anxiety. While natural methods and therapies can prove beneficial, medication can sometimes be just as necessary to help that person transition to a life where they would eventually live independently from medications whilst minimizing the impact that ADHD has on their life.

ya russ - as i was saying, it's only for extreme/emergency scenarios.

and can you prove this? is this proven?:
"The root cause of ADHD is not related to external factors."

"I think, therefore I am" - I can only prove it to myself since I've had it my entire life and have spoken to a lot of people in my shoes. I've been in damn near triathlon shape eating as clean as one can and I've also been extremely lazy and out of shape eating a lot of fast food... so I've seen both sides of the spectrum. I can't prove it to you directly, I can only suggest you take my word for it. Perhaps with some more research, but I'm no neurologist.

I think there is real ADHD, then I think there are people who use it as a scapegoat in order to take pills to solve their problems.

Not saying which OP is, because I don't know... just seems the number of sudden adult ADHD diags is a little peculiar.
I've noticed the same thing, everybody has an excuse to pop pills these days.

Good advice here. Good Food for thought. Good Dick rolls. Good ass pics.

bofu2U, yeah I hear from a bud that that's the shit.

Thanks WF you folks seldom disappoint.

Interesting the turn in this thread, compared to the other adderall/add threads.

I've got a script for adderall. But I've never claimed to have ADD/ADHD (at least other than just joking about it). I just maintained I have troubles focusing and I take the adderall, sporadically, to help me focus. Are there other helpful solutions like exercise and diet? Yes. I try to keep those incorporated, but admittedly have trouble staying focused on that (SEE WHAT I DID THERE).

I wonder if it bothers everyone that people say OH I NEED THESE CUZ I HAVE ADD!!!1! which granted, is annoying. I know, because I have friend who suddenly decided she was ADD and then decided her whole family was ADD and put her whole family on medication. It's a little suspect to me. I'd never put my kids on anytype of long term medication unless they it was absolutely vital for their health. The growing brain of a child is something that shouldn't be messed with. (something I hope to convay to them so that if and when they decide to try recreational drugs they'll wait until a good way through college. Yeah, I know dreaming) Anyways it's annoying to me that these people don't just own up to "I like the way I feel when I'm on adderall and I really like the results" and insist on saying they have ADD because they can't admit the real reason to themselves and others.

There's a big difference between feeling the need for something and feeling like it improves your <X>. Also they treat everyone differently. I can't count how many times I've talked to someone that was on ADD meds and said it turned them into a zombie. If they did that to me I wouldn't go near them with a 10 foot pole. I enjoy having random obscure ideas that materialize into projects. That's one of my best skills.

However I'll tell you this: if I was on ADD meds while in high school, I probably wouldn't have spent the amount of time I did doing programming projects (that I saw as more fun / higher priority) instead of homework or studying for a test. Yeah, my grades would have been better but I never equated my grades as a testament towards where I was going in life anyway.

Speed, truth of the day. I once hung out with a guy who was into smack and got ADHD and he got way calmer from the amphetamine then heroin. Go for it just no mainlining.

OR you would have spent all your time programming and would have failed out of highschool :D

I was diagnosed with severe ADD in my mid-twenties, after a severe bout of depression and a lifetime of confusion. My psychiatrist started me on Adderall XR 30mg twice daily. For a while, I was king of the world, and I felt like I'd found the missing piece. I got a lot of things done, and felt like I was finally getting my life together.

The problem is, I wasn't. If I would forget to refill my script, or travel to a place where I couldn't refill, I was stuck, and a deep depression would ensue.

Eventually I realized that for me, the solution to my internal problem was not going to come through external means.

The drugs will absolutely work for you to one degree or another, but as long as you are taking them, you will need to take them in order to function at your best.

I'd advise OP to look into the long-term side effects associated with stimulant drugs before going down this route, because ADD medication is a maintenance protocol, not a cure, and over time the cost of maintenance may become truly excessive.

this is good advice. i used to be on dexedrine and adderall for a long time and had to stop due to the same reasons. once you have to start relying on something to function you're gonna be in a worse spot than you were just trying to deal with ADD.
