Do you own any?

I have a few dictionary work, single word .orgs and .net
They are rare so I bought them... Not even parked..

Do you buy if you get the chance to buy a single word domain?

How much do you pay for single Keyword .orgs and .nets that don't have much of a commercial intent...?

Don't ask me what I am gonna do with these domains..
Just collecting for now :-)
Always envied the domainers...

Some downblouse for you...

This downshirt pic stuff makes me feel dirty.

Oh, and I don't own any single "dictionary word" .coms but a couple of "pronounceable" single word .coms that will be great for branding.

If I ever get around to it, that is. Too much profit tied into DR stuff right now.

i hate when people say shit like "dont ask me...". doubtful anyones gonna ask you bro, pretty much goes without saying. wait until someone does, and you can address it then..otherwise you come off as a pretentious kunt, and an amateur that doesnt know how to talk to people.

thanks for the downblowses. nice change ;). i was getting sick of seeing just regular tits.

Are you looking to sell them? No harm in listing them aye?

Here are a handful i've collected over the years:

recurring.com
sausage.com
introduction.com
longer.com
detected.com
popped.com

Full listing here: Megabit | Domain Names for Sale

I plan on developing them eventually =)

Sausage.com? Holy shit does that have potential! Outside the obvious gay porn site everyone is thinking.

Haha! Love realfucker.com too. So awesome.

Do you not realize how much money you're not making by not selling your own private label male enhancement pills on longer.com?

TV spots, magazine ads, radio, direct mail, etc. Online lead gen would be the tip of the iceberg and the branding does itself.

+1 for this, brilliant.

I like buying random domains that aren't popular TLDs, just for the future potential in branding. For example last week I bought friends.cm (kinda gay that .cm's are $100/year). Clearly no flip or SEO value, but who knows? Potential for fake branding in those names too...for instance last I checked payday.cm is available. You could display your ads as Payday.com and 95% of people looking for payday loans won't notice.

I tried to explain that to the good folks at Wikipedia and Craigslist but they didn't believe me.

You have a point, of course; but it's not really the best argument when both have the .coms redirected to the .orgs.

It's not like they just let the .coms go to someone else.

How about this:

Archive.org - Alexa 218
Archive.com - Alexa 18,245,636

No redirect there and they don't seem to be losing much traffic to the .com.

The point is .com is not the only way to go, especially depending on your niche...

Unless it's a .org (and only in some cases), .com is the way to go. Picking the first 3 .org sites that come to mind doesn't make your case stronger. This is what happens when someone typos archive.com (and it probably happens all day):

  • Archive.com redirects to arabs.com.
  • Arabs.com is really, really far off from anything archive-related.
  • Because archive.org is already huge (and has the benefit of being reg'ed since '95), the user knows what they want and are motivated to get there.
  • The user leaves arabs.com and googles "archive"

Yeah but the point he is trying to make is that, going by the alexa, the .com isn't getting as much type-in traffic as the domainers would have you believe.

Now if you are going to generics, with lots of type in like say sex.com or porn.com it is a different matter..

But the reply was to someone say ONLY .coms
.orgs maybe worth less, but they are not worthless IMHO

I guess it depends on the culture you're coming from. Where are you located in the world?

Saying "don't ask me" is a common expression in many countries/cultures connoting something along the lines of "I don't even want to begin to explain, maybe because I haven't given it any thought yet, or maybe because I don't really care and I'm completely open to suggestions.". It's not to be taken literally and certainly not to be taken as a preemtive refusal of any followup questions, or even as an assumption that someone is actually going to ask in the first place.

Concluding that OP is a pretentious cunt and an amateur, based on that alone, is hence an overreaction on your part. Don't ask me to dwell any deeper on that though :D
