I just researched Malta as a fellow affiliator has moved there that I know. Seems like an all around great place to move, particularly as a European. It's hot, it's small, great beaches, diving, very scenic. Affordable accomodation and a lot of great nightlife plus lots of hot girls on vacation or as students. Plus the tax rate is only 15% and it's safe and first world health care.

Seriously it sounds like a very nice place to live, particularly for those bringing dollars in from abroad.

Any of you have experience with Malta?

You forgot the other excellent benefit. Everyone speaks English! :)

Nonetheless, you'll be bored out of your mind after 4 - 6 months. Live there for 6 months myself. Great little island, but the novelty wears off after a while.

How affordable is "affordable accommodation"? Looks like it could be fun...for the right price, because I'm cheaper than cheap.

Something like $500 for a studio in the main nightlife/beach area, which is cheap. Probably much cheaper outside the main areas. So yeah, I think it could be an enjoyable summer place with tons of tourists coming to party. Plus, if you're European you can incorporate your biz and only pay 15% tax, then spend your time abroad as you please. Just have to make sure to have a board meeting there a few times a year as proof that the company is run from there. As I understand it, lots of poker and gambling biz are set up there as well.

Any idea for bigger apartments? I checked on Numbeo and it seems like it's maybe $800 for a nice two bedroom or something in a good area. I really can't do studios anymore--need a separate room for my office to work well.

You'll need to be local to find good deals. I researched and most looked like vacations sublets and I need hardwood floors to function plus a nice balcony, but overall seems like $800 would land you something nice.

Never realised they speak English there, I assume its just a percentage? Im thinking about a move somewhere too, suppose it could be fun in the tourist seasons.

Around 90%... English in an official language there.

Malta was part of the British Empire until 1964.

Nothing there but fucking rocks and most of the people seem to carry them around inside their heads. Probably one of the least fucked Arab type countries, but Arab nonetheless.

Are you dumb? There is nothing "arab" about Malta. It's catholic to the bone.

Since when did religion define race?
As for their language it it is descended from Siculo-Arabic , an Arabic dialect because they were once inhabited by the Fatimids and are descended from them. They were Arabs in case you're wondering, scratching your head and getting splinters.

Been there a few years ago. Didn't like it too much, really dirty, cars everywhere, shitty artificial beach...

So true, plus every one who said you will be bored out of your minbd, well they are right too.
