Bad move on Blockbuster, they think that affil will just stick around. WRONG, oh wells...let's wait until the payout rises again to promote.

My understanding is it is because affiliates were unable to follow the basic and conditions and rules so they just essentially scrapped the whole thing.

Think of that next time it crosses your mind that the rules don't apply to you, or they don't really mean it when they tell you not to oubit them on certain search engines, when they specifically them not to do it.

That and I've seen several sites promoting the 2 week free trial as a Month free trial.

To advertise a '2 week trial' as a 'month trial' is one thing; to use PPC to your advantage is another. I think it is complete bullshit that these companies don't want us to outbid them in the search engines.

We are not their competitors; they are the ones getting the sales in the end. This is why I don't use PPC that much. These type of rules are garbage.

Your point about search makes no sense. If I were Blockbuster, I wouldn't want anyone bidding on my trademarked terms. I'm the one who has built the product and the one that spent millions on branding and marketing. All this so that someone can rip off my brand. Granted they might be getting the sales, but it has cost them money. Because the cost for them to drive traffic via their search efforts is probably less than what they've paid to affiliates or affiliate networks.

I blame shoemoney for blogging about it and all his minions rushing to the offer. :p

he likes to do this once he makes a little $, competition increases and he can no longer make $ so he ruins it for everyone.

They have the rules for a reason. If you don't like the rules, then don't advertise them.

It is really easy.

It's not about trademarked terms. It's about 'outbidding' them in the search engines.

When rules are unfair, they will be broken. And by the way Blockbuster is acting now, it seems it was broken quite a bit. That's what they get.

Apparently you didn't read my entire post. Blockbuster has lowered their price of their cpa because they can make more margin buying search than having publishers do it. It's a wise business decision on their end.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

That's one way to weed out the shoe minions. 'Cause we all know they use azoogle 'cause he pimps them like nothing else exists. :p

I did read your post but I thought your point was fruitless. It is not wise because yes they have a bigger margin, but less affiliates (like me) promoting them. I am not promoting them anymore because simply its not worth my time.

What would be a good network to promote Blockbuster with since Copeac appears to have dropped it?

Not sure. I stopped promoting it via search awhile ago. If you are looking for something easy like Blockbuster to promote look into the Nutrisystem, I think that Copeac still has that one running.
