Google+ redesigned their layout and nobody even noticed

Dude, if you have a Gmail account you have a G+ account. They may technically have 170m users. However, .00001% of those are active users.

1.13 percent of Twitter users update their accounts more than 10 times a day. About 85.4 percent of Twitter members tweet zero times a day and about 6.5 percent tweet once a day.

If Google's intention is to push content, they're not doing too badly when compared to the only other service that is even remotely comparable.

Also, https://plus.google.com/explore -- look at it. How is it different than Facebook? It doesn't have the shit-ass "LOOK AT MAH BABEH" posts. The shit that shows up there is from major content producers. This concept (content delivery) is what G+ is after, not announcements (Twitter), not your personal story (Facebook).

Increased CTR.
Being able to alter the serps for your circle.

I've already said it earlier in the thread, but the point is to end anonymity online and control your digital identity.
Not sure about this, you should check out some of the stuff Peter Thiel has said about anonymity online.

OK I give up. I feel like I'm trying to teach Algebra to my 4 year old. We'll revisit this later. Tapping out.
Welcome to my world.

they're just laying the foundation for something bigger. Maybe.
I am fairly certain that if they hit their marks, G+ is going to change search in a really profound way.

This concept (content delivery) is what G+ is after, not announcements (Twitter), not your personal story (Facebook).
Basically, facebook is for most of the losers on this forum. Every idiot has a voice.

twitter is for the people on this forum trying to engage in some level of personal branding. It's where you create a narrative around what you're doing and thinking.

G+ is where people are building audiences and demographics into search markets, which applies to none of these peasants, who are all too busy crying about censorship of nazis and posting nsfw pics all day long.

It's not for a peasant like you. Go back to Facebook.

in just one day I completely changed my opinion of you. I've read a lot of your posts and what strikes me now is the impertinence and the "guru" attitude you are pushing. Completely disregarding other people opinions and clear facts known to everybody but you. Trying to push a crappy service because it does something for you that it was never designed to do in the first place. And now throwing insults. Kinda pathetic if you ask me.

Will make sure to remember that and not bother to respond at any more of you posts. Please, make sure to do the same.

ps: one more thing:

more social signals relevant to you -> effect on ranking on your "personalized" SERP.

No one uses it -> results are the same.

Only SEO experts use it -> algo is tricked. You get a commercial instead of content.

Uhm, no, that's not how +1s work.

Yes. You clearly know how to read.

Oh and yes, it's not for pesants like me, but it looks like it's not for anyone, but you and 7 other "high end google users".

kinda trying to act like the nerd kids at school making their "club" and acting exclusive just to avoid thinking about how socially incapable they are.

Oh boohooo hooo hooo hoo.

Completely disregarding other people opinions
I don't disregard other people's opinions, I disregard ignorant opinions from peasants.

and clear facts known to everybody but you.
Yeah, because this thread is loaded with FACTS.

Trying to push a crappy service because it does something for you that it was never designed to do in the first place.
I am not trying to push anything. I don't do any social networking right now.

But I am in this as a business for 10 years. It's my job to spot trends and notice which way things are going. I do this for real, it's not a hobby, it is how I support my family. I can't afford to be a hater or a fanboy. That's for small minded idiots who hang out on WF dickrolling each other.

Will make sure to remember that and not bother to respond at any more of you posts. Please, make sure to do the same.
Dude, no one knows you. No one cares what you think. Don't confuse a microphone with a message or an audience, because your ability to post is neither.

I won't miss you.

That is why it has failed.

It's been around for one year. You can hardly claim it has failed

That is why they have 170 million users for just one year. Because they are best!!!

It took Facebook 4.5 years to reach 100 million users. If we're judging a book by the time it takes it to reach a certain readership, Google is a raging success in comparison.

How many people have said Facebook's days are numbered or that twitter is a passing fad?

Only time will tell.

Just go after targeted traffic, and you'll be alright... If your in SEO, and all your clients start asking about getting facebook traffic, then you switch to selling Facebook, knowing that it is not going to get your client any targeted traffic, you made the mistake of not standing your ground, and you soon will fall for anything. Google plus, Facebook, Twitter, IF it get your TARGETED traffic that converts, you're a winner and you should milk that shit for what it is worth, otherwise, we are all just dicking around on a gay webmaster forum.

yes that is true. It has failed thus far. It may get enough users. Only time will tell. Now - it's just like google wave - we know it's there, but no one uses.

That is other than the "hugh end google users" of course.

lol

Yeah, they aren't balling like you, right?

I keep forgetting how you're making millions a year online and being asked to speak at conferences and work with big corporations.

We should definitely be listening to what you have to say!

Yes, people make millions and speak at conferences and work with big corporations all because of google +.

ALL PRAISE TO GOOGLE+ WORLD DOMINATION.

you're not even pathetic any more man. You are just some delusional dude who thinks he is "oh so powerful and knowledgeble and judges people about how "influential their forum account is"

lol

PS: look what i've got. Fascinating, isn't it?

I am what I am, but whatever I am, you're still a peasant.

Putting me on your ignore list will probably be the most significant thing you will do on this forum.

no doubt Google+ is important and is likely to shape search in future. Not just that, Google had to do something serious to provide an alternative to facebook which is spreading its tentacles to every other site. Google+ is still behind fb in many ways, but with the advantages google has over facebook, it may be able to catch up soon.

I saw a top hotels review site which has integrated facebook login system in an actually helpful way for customers. I believe facebook is now too big to fail anytime soon.

I don't think Google ever intended G+ to be a true social network. I think Guerilla is right to say that they intended to make it an authorship network.

They intended it to be both of those and more.

Google just let everyone else label it a "social network" and went with it. I think they were afraid to tip their hand too early.

Go look at their press releases and statements made by employees. They ran tv ads during NFL games. They highlighted VIDEO CHAT during those commercials, not "follow your favorite sports writers.."

These are more black and white statements by Mr. Guerilla. The reality is again a shade of gray, as all of those services are being used for the various things mentioned. If anything, Twitter is more about idiots having a voice than Facebook. A lot of people don't use real names on Twitter and they also don't have their relatives on there like they do on Facebook.

Coca-Cola - Twitter
Coca-Cola - Food/Beverages | Facebook
Coca-Cola - Google+

Look at how Coke uses the 3; they don't treat the platforms as polar opposites of each other. They are not using google anymore for "authorship" than they are facebook.
