FTC shits on real estate bizopp informercial



The "earnings" reported in the infomercial were falsified and "customers' payment information was used without their express informed consent, in violation of the FTC Act and the Telemarketing Sales Rule".

If the "system" was ANY good at all, more than 1% of the people would have at least made their $40 back.

I'm sure a lot of those people worked harder than the majority of people on this forum. They might be stupid, but I doubt 100% of them were lazy.
 
In my own personal experience, I know only about 10% of paying customers make any serious effort. That is the truth.
 
The FTC has been really aggressive against biz opp vendors lately. They have had their biggest budget ever the past few years and have put it to use with cases like this.

I am very familiar with several of these type of cases the FTC is involved in right now. Here is the bottom line for the FTC's case against the Beck group: they way over-hyped the earnings potential and hid the monthly reoccuring charge. The other claims, such as less than one percent succeeding, would never have been enough for the FTC to sue these guys.

Hopefully the FTC will come off its high horse after the next annual budget is done in Washington.
 
I can understand the FTC concern with Biz-Op's. But, honesty if you are stupid enough to purchase a product like this well.... you deserve to get fucked.

Same can be said about most info products because all of the information you need about most niches is freely available if you look hard enough in the right places.

All I know is that I was selling a bizoppish product a while back and some guys were literally shelling $1k a pop. Hardly any of them bothered to even look at the files after purchasing. Also people don't generally like to use their brains.

Just get paper.

True! But we dont live in a Social Darwinism era any more... There is no survival of the fittest... only bailouts for those that fail and rewards for those that are lazy...

Only in America can a CEO take a company to the brink of bankruptcy, get fired and receive a 30 million dollar severance in the process...

It's sad really!

That's the point of the product - The people looking to "get rich working from home" usually are the ones to lazy to actually use the information and product.

$1k is low for many, many biz opp products. We sell packages on up to $15k (did one yesterday). We don't lie or do sneaky rebills though. People know what they're getting and they get a legit refund if they're within the return period.

Here's the latest order issued by the judge in the case:

In summary: the FTC is going to win the case b/c their summary judgment motion was granted. The primary remaining issue at this point is how much the judgment will be against the Defendants in favor of the FTC. They may or may not get the $450m they are seeking. It's up to the judge at this point.

That was a large enough sample (1 million customers) along with the $15,000 personal coaching services that should obviously had better results. Their numerous violations of the FTC act and Telemarketing rules was the real reason for the judgment win.

These 2 guys were complete scum and got what they deserve... good riddance!
