Tobacco Addicting- Tips on dealing with cravings?

Anyone here chew tobacco?

I've been trying to quit now..It's been 2 days and fuck I have the biggest craving...I know some of you smoke so maybe we got tips for how to deal with cravings?

Fuck...It doesn't last only 5 minutes, It's been an hour now. I'm losing it. ........fuck....

So, whenever you get the urge, stick some acid tabs between your bottom teeth and lip.

Seeing as your a doctor, can you prescribe this?

Also OP just take some ibuprofen to get the edge off. Wait it out a few days, the cravings taper off to like maybe once a day after a week.

I did it this cold turkey. I replaced smoking with heavy eating / gum the first 3 days, then gum after that, and now I don't even chew gum.
 
just endure the pain and focus on the positives of quitting. It gets better after a few days, especially on day 4 when nicotine is completely out of your system. I never tried chewing tobacco, but smoked for 13 years.
 
I quit smoking two packs of cigs a day late last year. Don't submit to your cravings by any means, 1 is back to addiction.

Call me gay, but I said a little prayer every time a craving came up and thanked Him when it went away.
 
Fuck. I almost gave in. I ended up chewing a whole packet of gum and it went away, Fuck yea!

Until next time (probably, tomorrow morning) cravings.."fuck you"..

I'm not sure if chewing is worst to give up than cigarettes or not. I smoked for a little bit but once I started playing sports, I got hooked onto chew, now it's just fucking gross...
 
I myself was a smoker.

It's important to replace your triggers the with other things the best you can. What is a trigger? Well for a lot of smokers it's like having a cup of coffee, or a beer, or just after you eat.

In my experience I find it best to work on these triggers and not all at once. Over the course of 1 - 2 weeks just keep trying to break your triggers at random and ween down on the amount you are using so that you are uncomfortable but hopefully not going to kill anyone. Once you have some confidence that you can beat your triggers, just step away from it and tell yourself to never go back.

You're defiantly going to feel like shit for a week or 3 but it will get easier, and easier, the first few days are the worst. You might get a random day in the first month where you out of no where just to ballistic. The last time I quite my blood pressure went through the roof, I have never felt so bad ever in my life. But after a week or so I was back to normal. A slice of hell that was just worth it I guess. Really that has to be your thought, that in the long run it's the best move and your patience, and paid will be rewarded.

Keep at it and don't give up. Get some good mouth wash also. It seemingly takes a week or so before you get the skank taste out of your mouth and that in itself can drive you fucking off a wall.

Why would I want to insult homosexuals by comparing them to people that have imaginary friends? ;)
 
My advice is to never give in .. not even one puff or one chew in your case

Craving is normal for people, but if you start to seriously think about giving in(convincing yourself that it's okay if it's just a few puffs) then punish yourself.

I used to do push-ups or sit-ups until I couldn't use my muscles and it worked like a charm.

I have been able to quit for short periods at a time by using sunflower seeds. The craving always comes back and I'm too lazy to fight it. You only live once anyway. Might as well do what you enjoy. Once you're dead, you're fucking dead and it doesn't really matter how you tried to get healthy "that one time".

I have lost several friends and even a sibling in the past couple of years. It just showed me that life is short and it really doesn't fucking matter what you do in the long run. In the grand scheme of things, you're shit anyway. You're a cosmic speck of dust. You're going to end up as dirt and plant food anyway, despite how healthy you lived. Do what you want imo.

One of these days I will quit for good. (jk buying more skoal and another 12 pack. will probably fuck a hooker w/o a condom too just for good measure.)
