I'm an affiliate for a company that offers some niche dating offers. They offer a PPC plan, where I get paid per click up to a $1.00 a click, the payout depends on the number of clicks vs. the number of free sign ups. So if there is 1 click and 1 free sign up that = $1 a click. If it's 1000 clicks and 1 free sign up, you're not going to get anything you'll get .000000001 or something like that.

Anyway, I started the campaign last week and started seeing good conversions, I was making about $5 a day, then last Thursday and Friday I removed my daily budget and my sales increased, to about $10 a day.

Now, I always watch my affiliate control panel and yahoo campaigns constantly. I noticed yesterday that my yahoo account shows I paid for 30 clicks. Yet my merchant's account only shows 2 clicks. Same thing happened today, I paid for 16 clicks and they're displaying 1 click.

I e-mailed my AM and they said it could be a competitor clicking my ads, he said their system only tracks uniques, but I just think it's kinda of odd that it started when my payouts increased. Although I can see how that this might be going on, since this niche I just discovered is unique and the costs for keywords is cheap with high traffic. I haven't found a niche that receives this amount of traffic a month at the price I'm bidding on.

Has anybody else seen a similiar problem? Any suggestions how I can find out where the problem is coming from? I'm going to promote another site of there's that was doing alright and see if the problem continues.

Well all there sites now say: An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.

Well, the definition of what a unique is varies alot, I only use PPS for dating sites. Harder to calculate if you don't have any experience with the niche, but there isn't much you can do if they claim their count is correct.

I don't know which affiliate program you are using, but shaving is very popular in dating, cams and adult...with the lawnmower.

Not everybody, but competition for affiliates is fierce in dating and not every company can really afford paying you on industry standard without some creative hit counting.

I'm not sure what's going on, all I know is the traffic I'm sending to their site isn't being recorded in my control panel. It was going good all last week, getting better daily, and then all of a sudden I notice my reports are showing 1 or 2 clicks when I sent much more than that. I watch my PPC campaigns and affiliate reports constantly.

I contacted them, they say it's nothing on their end and they don't have a problem with any of their other affiliates.

What sounds strange to me is that, they have several sites and all their sites are recorded with the same payout method, it's a traffic vs. free signup ratio. So, I explained to them how some of their sites do well and some don't and that's messing up my payout with the sites that are doing well, but I want to promote all their sites. I asked if I could create a seperate account for each website so my payout wouldn't be effected with sites not doing as well. They said it wasn't a problem.

How complicated is it to run a dating site? Is it expensive to get the website created? Or the hosting required for the site? I'm wondering since this is a small niche which was doing well for me as an affiliate, and there's low competition there's probably about 4-5 dating sites in this niche and the rest of them are poor quality sites and they don't even have affiliate programs. Or else I would just sign up with another affiliate program.
