Secret Clubs, Societies, Masons, etc - whos in one? Offline networks

Also, what about alumni networks? (assuming you are an alumnus from somewhere). Some of these can be pretty active depending on the locality and will offer regular events.

Also there are some circles of professionals that meet for drinks or dinner every month or so, typically capped by profession (eg, 1 doctor allowed, 1 lawyer, 1 banker, etc). Perhaps similar to a mastermind group. My guess is if you are an entrepreneur I am sure they would welcome you.

Local colleges and universities could also be holding events.

I think there are opportunities here, it might take a little creativity / work - you don't need to become a freemason or join a tribe just to meet some people. Bottom line, ABC.

The MN GOP has the "Elephant Club" that you can join for a yearly fee and it seems to provide some decent networking opportunities. It is not really a secret club though.

Joining the right country club around here would probably also provide some good networking opportunities, but would probably not really give you as tight of a group as other clubs/guilds/societies.

My Godmother is in the Rotary club (and has been offered to chair her local one, turned it down though) and is pretty well connected; to name one person in it, the head of police for her area.
Sorta....

From what i've read:

"Freemasonry in fact requires of its members no specific view of a supreme being, as Deism would do, but rather a simple belief in a supreme being."

EDIT: Another reference

"It is religious in that a belief in a Supreme Being and in the immortality of the soul are the two prime requirements for membership, but it is nonsectarian in that no religious test is used."

Of course I'm no member...
I've looked into this, it seems that they require belief in a "higher power". Apparently, after the initial initiation, this isn't mentioned, and it's actually against the rules to ask someone about their beliefs in a higher power. This higher power can be anything though, including nature. It's very non-specific.

2 questions you probably already answered somewhere else:

are you married / children?
the people in the town, did you go to grade school/high school with them?

this is really only an issue that applies to people that live in the southern USA, the rest of the world doesn't have this problem

the best solution is to relocate yourself from the cesspool of ignorance known as the southern states

This. Or Bilderberg. Or Summit Series.

where are you going w/ this?

Getting involved with the school system, or if the kids do sports, offer to be a coach. This helps networking with the other kids' parents.

Whether or not he went to school in the area, just getting a sense of how much an 'outsider' he is.

You'd be surprised at how many enclaves of intelligence remain in the south, Raleigh, NC being a big one.

Wouldn't be much of a secret if someone knows about it. It's more of a public club with requirements.

I've know many guys that joined the freemason's just to get business contacts. Does it detract from the organization? Not really. I think they're just happy to have more warm bodies to fill up the place.

Bilderberg FTW! I also hear the "Bohemian Grove" has a nice "Summer Camp" where all the power brokers gather once a year. You can't go wrong with either IMHO.

I've heard there's this really well-established secret society who likes dressing in white and setting fire to things in the South. Can't remember the name, but maybe give them a go?

Good post.

I am in the thick of the bible belt and mostly, it drives me crazy. I've been thinking I need to go to church for meeting chicks, but I never really thought through how easy it would be to sell services. Honestly, I can't think of one single place that would be better to meet potential clients than church. Would this be considered black hat offline marketing?

Hell, you could go to one church on Wed and the other on Sun and I guarantee your income would rise if you played your cards right. Plus, you could find Jesus.

But I believe in this-and it's been tested by research. He who fucks nuns will later join the church
