The use of gmail for sending reports?

Maybe I'm paranoid but I feel very anxious when SEO service providers keep sending reports using gmail. Seriously, we all know that Google crawls email content, attached documents to search for new links to index. I remember even a topic which suggested the use of gmail for indexing purposes.

Some days ago I even received report in pure text sent by a blog network owner via gmail... It's like saying: "Google, here is my network, de-index it".

For a while I have created non-gmail email address to avoid Google from knowing too much, but service providers still found gmail suitable for sending reports...

You think Google doesn't already know about your profile link wheel spam?
WTF? I don't do profile links and what are you meaning by this? Google - all seeing eye? No, it isn't. But I'm sure it is like a piece of cake for a crawler to analyze report links and just detect the footprint.

if they are caught doing what you are implying they do, how fast do you think they will go bankrupt?

brbbbb, moving all mail to hotmail.

In fact shit, what about Bing..

Do you really think that Google has time to go through every single email message in people's inboxes on gmail, using computer learning algo's to determine what is a link report?

For a start, it's going to be a tiny proportion of emails which fit the bill for that (0.00000000000001% or something hilarious) that is entirely not worthy of the time and effort, there's easier methods to achieve bigger impact outside of trying to algorithmically read your email.

Secondly, that's like royal mail opening my letters, reading them and removing my home postal service for saying bad things about them.

There'd be an absolute shitstorm if Google was found to be doing something like that.

They already do it to place relevant Adsense ads on the page you're reading E-mail on. They already do it to class mail as spam prior to sending and receiving. They already do it for a variety of other reasons. Their TOS said so since the beginning.

The real question is, why should you care if they sent a report through Gmail? If nearly all the fake E-mails are gmail used to register the accounts to register with prior to posting, chances are the places they're posting are already on G's radar.

Sorry bro.

The FBI and NSA have been reading your emails for years and they already know you purchased that Xrumer package back in 2010. Believe me, they're not happy about it either, and they're just building their case against you so they can get a grand jury indictment and send you to Federal Pound Me in The Ass Prison for a long time.

Whatever you say dude. They explicitly say what they use email scanning to do. This is something outside of the reach of their privacy policy. If they could do this, there's tons of shit they can do. Scanning emails to determine business intent for specific accounts is akin to reading your mail. Where do you draw the line?

Automatically scanning email against spam filters, or matching ads to content is entirely different.

I'll phone you when all my sites are removed from the SERPs for all the dealings I do via Gmail.

^ most people dont turn on their images in their profiles apparently, plz don't forget to include text image variations.

Of course they can go through your shit and nuke you. Do they have a reason to?

Maybe, if you're a dumbfuck who 301'd his site at SEOmoz for lulz or a self-aggrandizing attention whore like that tranny taint loving cock fluffer Charles Floate.

But if you're smarter than us, keep your head down, disappear in the masses, you'll be fine. Tinfoil away though, whatever puts water under your craft.

Sorry, I was out of town and my WF alert for "tranny taint loving cock" went off. Now I'm this thread got bumped again. Will read again.

You are worried about it, so your best idea is to post about it on a public forum?

I am sending backlinks of my competitors to myself in a report so they get a penalty.

true starry bra

does anyone even hurrr durr anymore

If Google was ever caught reading users Gmail to find websites to penalize the privacy shitstorm they'd face would be astronomical. There are far easier, less expensive and not illegal ways for them to identify PBNs and people offering SEO services against their guidelines, there's no reason for them to bother spying on your gmail.
