UFC 148 / Silva vs Sonnen?

Anyone gonna order this?

I'm definitely going to order the PPV.

Pretty excited to see what happens. I have a feeling Silva is going to either totally shit stomp sonnen or get totally shit stomped himself like the first fight, doubt there is going to be any middle ground.

I want Silva to win because he's a fucking bad ass but at the same time it's always awesome to see someones reign as king come to an end...just not really a fan of Sonnen, wish it was someone else who could potentially beat him instead.

Even though I don't really like Sonnen, this video is pretty god damn fucking funny:

didn't somebody on here post a live feed during the Jones/Evans fight?

Yeah, if Silva is going to lose a fight before he retires it will be this one, or maybe if he ends up doing a catchweight or switching weight classes for a jones or gsp superfight.

What is amazing is if you watch the first fight, Sonnen's striking is ON POINT. Watch any other fighter trying to strike Silva that way and they look silly. Sonnen is the ultimate troll, and Silva is too, that's why I think they really do dislike each other lol.

I want Sonnen to win just because I think its the only time we will see Silva really lose in the UFC more than likely. His wrestling/control skills are a real problem for any fighter. I don't think we'll see a middle ground either...

Probably, but live feeds are sketchy as fuck. Bad quality, freezes, dropped signal, etc.

Not gonna risk that on a fight like this, just gonna buy the PPV. I want to be able to see clearly if Silva actually kills Sonnen on live PPV.

sonnen doesn't stand a chance. This fight is going to be a blow out. Most likely with sonnen out in the first round.

I still think silva was messing with him the first fight. Sonnen doesn't have any power in his punches (then again he was on roids), but he didn't hurt silva at all. I think silva was messing with him making it look like he was going to lose then he would submit him. I don't think silva intended it to go that long, but I still think silva was just toying with him.

And now Sonnen isn't on roids and his last fights have been garbage (I think the last time I saw him fight he gas'd after the first round). So this isn't even going to be entertaining. The only reason hes trash talking is get this event hyped up because at the end of the night its going to be a one sided fight. Sonnen sucks.

Jones would destroy him IMO. GSP, even though he's much smaller than Silva, may actually destroy him as well. Both GSP and Jones are pretty sick wrestlers and everyone knows that is Silva's weakness as seen by Sonnen's domination of him in their first fight and Sonnen isn't even that great of a fighter..

Sort of agree with this. But Silva really is horrid when it comes to wrestlers so who knows.

Silva said he had hurt ribs in the first fight. Most fighters are dealing with injuries. Sonnen has never been knocked out, all his loses have been submission. I believe Silva in the 2nd round by TKO. Silva is to accurate.

I would love to see a catch weight between Silva and GSP, but Silva won't cut. There could possibly be a Silva vs Jones fight, which I think would be great. I know Dan Henderson is ancient, but I would like him to have one more shot at Silva also.

Silva vs Jones would be awesome. Jones would lose, but it would be a mirror match up and it would be interesting to see who's length wins out.

And Silva cut weight? Fuck that I don't know how he would even do that without looking like a skeleton. He's already pretty skinny.

It's not a mirror matchup, Jones is a legit wrestler. They both have good BJJ and striking. Jones would just take him down and ride hime to a finish IMO.

mirror match up as in striking. They both use their long limbs to their advantage and rarely go to the ground.

So stoked for this. Best thing? UFC.tv streams it for free where I live. With a shitton of different camera angles that I can freely chose from. And I can rewind. Ooooh yea. I would even pay for UFC.tv if it weren't free.

I have money on Sonnen at +230...amazing odds considering what happened the first fight

You gotta understand Brazilians ALWAYS have a fucking excuse for every bad performance. It's their way of saving face. If his ribs were that injured he wouldn't have been cleared to fight.

As far as I'm concerned, Sonnen whooped his ass for 4.5 rounds, and Silva threw a hail mary submission. Sonnen hired world Champion BJJ coach Vinny Malgahes to help out. Submission defense is easier to improve, and Sonnen probably just training defense from the closed guard since that's where he'll be majority of the time. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Sonnen arm triangles Silva like he did to Brian Stann.

People seem to have forgetten that Silva hasn't fought in over a YEAR and he's 37 years old. Silva's fighting style relies on accurate strikes and reflexes...skills that don't age well.

As far as Jones vs. Silva...I'd bet the house on Jones. If Shogun, Machida, Rampage, & Rashad couldn't do it, I don't think Silva stands a chance. Especially considering Silva's the easiest to take down from that group. Silva's always had a nice reach advantage for his striking and Jones negates that.

On July 7th, at 10 in the East and 7 in the West, Chael P. Sonnen will make the walk to the Octagon and defeat Silva.

All Sonnen has to do is get into half guard and his probability of getting caught diminishes greatly.

Great analysis on everything and I agree 100% apart from him being in Silva's guard most of the fight. I think he will work to pass more than he did last time and work to get a submission instead of GnP

I think Silva has this pretty easy...

Did any of you see Sonnen vs Bisping? It was terrible, Bisping actually gave Sonnen a run for his money. And Bisping is shit... Did you see Bispings fight before that, Vs Mayhem, it was one of the most pathetic fights I have ever watched. I was convinced Sonnen was going to kill Silva in a rematch. It would simply be a mirror of the first fight without the fluke submission, but after watching how shitty Sonnen was against Bisping... I guess him not being on PEDs has really altered how good he is.

Silva's going to be going for blood too. He's taking Chaels games personal. Should be fun to watch either way and I definitely will be getting the ppv, but after the Bisping fight, I don't have much faith in Sonnen.

You're an idiot. Ya he went through four and a half rounds of getting the shit beat out of him so that he could fabricate a come from behind win...

Agreed. Chael talks a lot of shit but he is gonna take the belt home. No doubts about it.
