Shooting Glock 23 and Uzi - First Person POV

So deciding to get something a little more comfortable for Concealed Carry, after deciding my Full Sized Px4 Storm wasn't cutting it, I went ahead and went with the Glock 23 .40 Caliber. I was staying away from the Glocks but everyone kept swearing by them, so I went a head and picked one up.

Me being the addict I am, I bought an extended 22 round magazine in .40 cal and a 33 round magazine in the 9mm to go with the Storm Lake 9mm drop in conversion barrel I got. (Its on back order till september, so I didn't get to play with that yet) and I also added a tungsten guide rod (In mail and should get delivered this week) And then I added an engraved punisher back plate on the back.

I shot my new Glock 23 while wearing my Liquid Image first person POV HD video googles (Which is bad ass buy the way, they go for $400 but you I found them for $150 on groupon and I think on ebay you can find them around that price if you look) and then shot the suppressed Uzi.

I was testing the sights out for the Glock and seeing if I needed to put my front sight on the target its self, or let the target sit on top of front and rear sights lined up, so I tried both and switch about half way. (Thats why you see the grouping move up after the first 8 or so shots), but I must say, I love it.

People have been trying to turn me on to Glocks for years and I finally dove in and got one and I'm glad I did.

I love my glock 23 , I carry it almost every day. I also happen to have a storm lake 9mm conversion barrel for it as well, it drops the accuracy down quite a bit while using light ammo as well as shifts the POA when in use. I use the 9mm to practice and the 40 to carry. Sometime down the road I'm going to get a g19 to use as a dedicated gun rather than just using the barrel.

What distance was the target at? Your first 8rds or so were quite impressive overall.



As a side note to everyone here - The TYPICAL police officer test is to fire at a target 3 times the size of the one used in the video from 3yds, 5yds , 7yds , 10yds and 25yds, they just have to make contact with the paper 70% of the time or more. HK made contact every time on what seems to be either a 9" or 10" target.

I almost went this route but decided to go with the Springfield Armory XdM .40 Compact (here) because of the extra safety features that it has. I wear it in the front so the grip safety gives me a little added comfort and insurance that my dick won't get blow off.

.40 is a great gun for personal protection. Congratulations on your new purchase.

If you have a quality holster, it should make it just fine.

I ended up with a blackhawk serpa, it adds another layer of safety to any firearm as it actually locks the handgun inside the holster, and as you grip the pistol, it disables the trigger lock and lets the gun go, making it impossible to shoot yourself.

On top of that, they're extremely cheap.

Also want to mention the coolest part about glocks..........insanely cheap magazines. Most guns require you to buy extra mags @ $40-$55/ea. Factory glock magazines are $20-$25 and the Korean military regularly ships leftovers to the US and sells them for $5 each. I bought 7 9mm mags before I even had my glock, they work awesome.

Exact reason i bought my XDM 3.8 .45 (seen in HKSEO Rotzee's other thread) over a Glock or a Kahr.

I'm still getting used to the heavy trigger though. I really effects my accuracy at like 20 yards.

7yrds or so (most CCW situations) it is fine though.

Because I'm in a nice area and my work is behind a desk ... my EDC is a P-3AT Sorta slowly leaning towards a PM9 or a Glock 26 though (yes even after trashing 9mm... LOL)

9mm works just fine, i've seen countless instances of where someone was hit many, many , many times with 45 and kept on fighting.

Thanks, I was wondering about the storm lake conversion barrel changing accuracy. But I plan to use it as you as well, as a money saver or for the event that I only have access to 9mm rounds.

That was at 15 yards. I was attempting to aim two different ways, I wasn't sure about the glock, thats why you see the groupings go from center, to just above. ( I wasn't sure if I needed the target to sit on the lined up sites, or if the sights leveled, should draw a line through center of target. )

I was actually shooting that exact gun the same day, my buddy had it. I really liked it a lot. Was really smooth. I wear mine at about 5 'oclock so my dick is always safe ;P
