I'm reading Bad Pharma at the moment, and it's... enlightening.
I already knew the pharma industry was rotten, but this book shows in explicit detail HOW rotten the entire regulatory and scientific publishing system is.
Thought I'd share it, as I know are are a few more pharma haters here:

Tldr: no, they don't appear to be hiding a cure for cancer or any other 'conspiracy' nonsense. What are they are doing is cherry picking studies and grossly misrepresenting results to make ineffective, dangerous drugs look useful, and effective, safe treatments which are no longer profitable (due to being out of patent) look bad. And the regulators and academics often collude with them.
