What do you guys prefer to do, find one niche and make a bunch of related sites that cross promote or just go after whatever will make money and not stick to anyone category?

I like to mix it up and try a bunch of niches...if / when one niche starts to do well then I launch more sites within that niche focusing on different but similar keywords hosted on different ip's

I prefer one niche at a time. Hit it hard, do all the usual SEO tactics, find other ways to drive traffic, keep expanding (what stroz said), and TEST.

Also, if you're gonna build multiple sites around a niche, make sure to do a newsletter or something that will get you contact info. Then you can start making your network of sites stickier and cross promote/upsell.

It is better work being focused on one niche, as all your efforts I directed to he achievement of one goal.

It depends what background you're coming from.

If you're already great at marketing niche sites, then you would be in the best position to decide.

If you're newer to this, I'd suggest on working on one and only one site, test out your offers and the various types of traffic and lead gen you have in mind.

Use your one niche as a proof of concept and once you find a winning formula, replicate it across your network.

I say go for the double, triple, and quadruple penetration
and saturate your niche with multiple sites or products.

Doing so will allow you to recycle all kinds of traffic and
keep your visitors in your own little world.

Heck, if you wanted to go all WWE Wresting style and
could even have a few of your sites fighting with each
other to create controversy and divisions.

It seems better to continue to parlay what's working.

So if you score on a particular niche, I'd clone your site
quite a few times with a different hook or twist on each
site.

So many possibilities when you do that.

Why not try out both methods and see which works better? I've spent the last 2 years working daily on a few sites and that has worked out great. I've also recently setup 50 micro niche blogs for usually just 1 product, and that is also turning out to be another great avenue.

I prefer to find one thing that works, and milk all I can out of it before I move on to something else. It's all a matter of preference though, some people prefer 1000 niches that make $1 a day, some prefer 2 niches that make $500 a day.

For me, concentrating on one or two usually works best. I like to focus, and unlike the rest of you who can focus on numerous projects simultaneously, I can't. I stick with just a couple, and work 'em hard.

Weren't you JUST BANNED for having that $7 ebook in your signature?

It would suck if you were working on one niche for a long time, and you find out it's too competitive/doesn't make enough money.

For that reason, I think spreading yourself thin, but not too thin is a better idea. Multiple niches will allow you to see which ones make the most money and is worth your time. Then you concentrate on it. That's your one niche.

So, multiple niches --> one or two niches that make money.

I try different niche at one time, but I have more succes if I been concentrate one 1.

Yeah, I'd try one first and see how it turns out, if it is successful in your own terms then, yeah, by all means make more.

Always only start with one and keep testing, testing, and testing. Then, when it finally becomes profitable move to the second and repeat.
