Once I have decided on a niche. For example, tickets to a specific theme park, how would I monetize the page? Is there affiliate offers where I can take a cut from each ticket sold to someone I have redirected to the site? Or would it be a pay per click type of thing. Where would I go to find offers that relate to my niche and progress this up from a parked page. Thanks

number of things..

- start by googling "niche topic affiliate" or "niche affiliate program"
- then check CJ or linkshare to see if the theme park is affiliated through them
- search for keywords related to your niche, then check who's bidding on those keywords and what kind of product they are selling

Here's a shameless plug...actually I promised to give her her credit. I highly recommend joining Azoogle if you are not an affiliate yet and getting to know your AM really well.

Mine there is Winkie Lee. I'm in a not so sexy and trendy niche and every time offers come up in that niche, since she knows that's what I focus on, she thinks of me. I have even been made aware of some campaigns ahead of time to test them out.

I feel if you are very proactive with an AM like the one I have and show a sincere desire to learn the business, they will more than meet you half way. They'll even "sit down with you" and assist with your goals - after all if you are going to take it seriously, IMHO, it's a business relationship that's an asset like anything else on the books...

I also have to plug my AM at Copeac Danny. When I first joined the network in May I bugged the hell out of him because hey, your AM has to get paid too and with all the work they have to do, clearly they need time to personally manage their relationships with the Super Affiliates who've been there for a while...

Anyway I said to him "I'd like to be doing xyz a day within the next 30-90 days...how do I get there?" and he worked with me to set those goals - making suggestions and helping me get on campaigns that would help (of course I had to prove myself with some $ first).

So I guess this is a long way of saying that if you get to know your AM well and they know what you want to market, they can meet you half way and clue you in to untapped opportunities.

Everyone even those of us who just started in the business has some specialized knowledge that can be used to a competitive advantage.

There's someone selling almost anything somewhere so if you get to know your AM well they can assist you in getting to where you desire to be.

Also (without being TOO redundant...) it does help to be VERY PROACTIVE at your network because if you want to market something that the network doesn't have but it will be profitable, they can pull it into the network for you--if it's profitable...

Good luck. Share the wealth :)!

There is many ways to find these sorts of programs. How much they will pay you and how they will pay you depends on each program as they are all different. There are not many CPC programs around and any that do pay CPC that are not with a reputable affiliate network, you have to then be careful of them as they could be scammy.

Sometimes it is good to think a step backwards in the process. In this case it might help to think not about "exact venue affiliate" but look for "theme park ticket affiliate". In most cases you can find at least competitors going off the trademark and sometimes affiliate programs. At least in this case I found this but I have no idea what park or state you were interested in.

[etc]

Great post - and it's true. Build a relationship with your AM. They are there to answer your questions and assist you, so use them. But make sure you are also proactive by yourself and show that you are not just trying to make easy money without any work.

Call the park and ask for their "Guest Accommodations" list, if they have one. This is the motels/hotels/restaurants/etc nearby that are 'affiliated' with the park. Or try the Chamber of Commerce or Tourism department of the city to get the same info, and then see if they offer a list like that.

For example, Six Flags over Texas is in Arlington, Tx. Six Flags wants you to come, so they offer info about close by lodging, and eating places.

Find offers for those and maybe you would be in business.

I'm fairly new (3 weeks) to Aff Marketing and have done enough research to be pretty profitable considering my experience. I haven't been able to establish a great relationship with my aff manager. He keeps asking to see my landing pages, I showed him one and he loved it...now I'm nervous he might steal my idea.

Am I just being paranoid or should there be some caution in showing aff managers your LP's? I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.

Thanks,

He probably is just happy you made the page and it looks pretty good. Nobody is going to steal anything unless its a proven money maker.

Thats when you dont want to tell everything to an AM, when you are making good money.
