Anyone Over 25 Still Addicted To Video Games?

I'm over 30 and I still get pissy if I don't get a game of Madden in every night, which equals at LEAST 1 hour of gaming per day.

and if I'm being honest, I'd play 3x (or more) as much if I didn't have shit to do.

Any other old dudes still have to get your gaming in daily?

I only play Madden and some call of duty. Madden is the most addicting, probably because I like the NFL too much. I also play in a money league which makes it fun to play and make money, but its for peasant change. The money is only there so people don't cheat and what not.

GTA and COD are fun but its horrible if you dont play with people you don't know, IMO. So if I'm on, i'll just go on hardcore s&d and just flashbang my own teammates. People take the game too serious so its fun to laugh.

I wouldnt say I'm addicted but surely it varies how much I play. Played the shit out of skyrim. Right not I play mass effect 3 multiplayer one or two games a day. Bought Dead or Alive 5 a couple weeks ago, my favorite fighting series. Played it one hour so far.

lmao hello me.

seriously that's exactly what I do, right down to flashbanging the hardcore games on cod (or I have bo2 right now, but same shit)

do you play on ps3 or xbox?

I play games to blow off steam. 15/30 mins a session, maybe twice a day. I rarely play for much longer.

omg... the splash pad at 10am = my whole summer. haha

edit.. wait - where did that video go? am I taking crazy pills?

41, still play games. Current faves are NBA 2k13 and Skyrim (huge fan of bethesda games) on PC. Looking forward to doing multiplayer campaign on the new Halo on X-Box 360 with my eldest son when I get time.

I'm over 25 and play Sleeping Dogs on my PC in between working. It's the first video game with an authentic looking Hong Kong in it.

Max Payne 3 is another favorite of mine.

No Thanks... Haven't picked up a video game since like 2 years ago and that was an old PC GTA game just for fun. Haven't play a real console game or anything other than that one brief GTA period for over 6 years easily. Only time is maybe 15 min at a friends house once a year.

Two things helped me get video games under control:

1) Avoid competitive games - I just play mainly single player games like Walking Dead, Dark Souls, The Witcher 2, etc. Games like Call of Duty, Halo 4, etc. would get me addicted because I have to be the "best." Unfortunately I can't compete with 14 year olds and neckbeards that can play 10+ hours a day. When I play single player games I can play around 1 hour then I'm like, fuck it I gotta check my work stats and emails.

This.

I enjoy watching twitch.tv streams of games I used to play or have never played. It's very fun and entertaining to watch the top 1% of players play and dominate and it's all the fun you love of having in gaming minus all the whining and annoyingness. Then if I watch a stream of a player who is not a pro it's basically the same experience I might have, dying a lot, lots of familiar bitching in the chat and it makes me cringe and remember why I don't want to play that shit anymore.

Example: http://www.twitch.tv/merlinidota - Great guy great stream great attitude, but that's easy when you are amazing at the game.

You can either devote your entire life to it and be the top 1% player who when you watch his stream it's all fun since he's so good or compete against the 14 year olds and deal with the same nonsense day in day out. It's like a bad marriage that will never get better.

I agree with Ngo there are a lot of great single player games out:

Mark of the Ninja
Metro 2033
Crysis 2
Max Payne 3
are some good shooters.

Getting frustrated in a single player game brings back those childhoold feels of trying to overcome. Getting frustrated in multiplayer games is just gay and a waste of time and leads to arguing with fags.

37 here (ha, I can still say that til next Friday)

Yes, fuck yes!

And you do know the stats, right?

Your average gamer today is 35, male, married, University degree

Thats what I do on my tab or a game of soccer on the xbox. That recent strategy games thread has got me heading in the wrong direction though, probably done 30 hours of gaming in past 5 days.

I am a huge video game addict. Over the last 5 years, my video game playing has dialed down. As of right now, I purchased Black Ops 2 and I've probably played it for a total of 6 hours. Before that, I played Diablo 3 for a week and decided it wasn't worth the time.

I wish I had more time for video games. I can justify taking 6-8 hours of the evening to do freelance work, but my wife likes to crush my nuts if she sees me playing video games. To combat that, I recently introduced my oldest children to Marvel Alliance 2. They love it, and daddy gets to play some games while spending some qual time.

Game over.

Have you ever watched really good players playing that Marvel Capcam 6 player fighter thing on twitch.tv that have tournies in Cali in some big arcade and stream it in professional style / quality. So crazy watching it.
