How are people making money online?

I havn't read too much discussion about how people are making money online and I would like to create a thread where people can offer their methods and strategies for making money online.

I have found it difficult to get enough traffic to make much money online, yet still turn a profit. Getting adwords traffic costs money which eliminates any hope of profit. I've been trying to promote free laptops, free wii's, free ipod phones, free ipods, free ps3s-all without much success. It has become quite frustrating.
 


There are a ton of posts on here about how people are making money online. Getting Adwords traffic does not eliminate any hope of profit if you do it correctly. Otherwise Google would be out of business.

Not to sound rude, but all SEO Mike did was list the differnet forum sub categoies. I am aware there is an 'affiliate marketing' section and a 'traffic is supreme section'.

I tired reading blogging for bucks a week ago but I got bored after the first two pages. Andrew wee seemed to just ramble on and it didn't go anywhere.

No one is going to give you a blueprint if that's what you're looking for.

There are a million ways to make money online and while people will give you tips and ideas they are not going to hold your hand or tell you I'm promoting this with these keywords and those ads and this landing page.

Here's some ways to make money:

- affiliate marketing
- content sites - > Adsense
- blogs
- flipping websites
- proxy sites
- offering services like - content writing, directory submissions, seo services
- "bum marketing" - writing articles and submitting to directories to get free traffic to your affiliate / adsense sites
- driving traffic to sites from craiglist, gumtree, etc by posting ads

there are of course tons more. Pick something that interests you and do some more reading on it then ask more specific questions.

On a side note all the free stuff you are promoting pays out very little. Not to say you can't make money on them but you'll have to be more creative than bidding on "free ipods" and getting paid $1.50 per lead.

Think outside the box.

I think you're on the wrong forum buddy. You should go over to the business 101 forum and learn that spending money to make money doesn't "eliminate any hope of profit."

But what if you're spending way more than you're making? Then you have negative profit.

I'm not looking for a blueprint but more specific tips than just restating what I already know. I know there exist many possibilities of how to make money online but there of no specific information on how to implement those ideas. I know how to make a blog and how to create an adwords ad. I have a content website. Content writing seems like a waste of time when you;re competing with Indians who charge next to nothing. The problem is can't make much money with these ideas.

I haven't found any of seo mikes posts to be of much use.
 
m0rtal and Jondow0069 have been infinitely more nice to you than the treatment you would have gotten in this forum for asking those questions just six months ago. So to continue their altruistic (look it up) behavior, I will give you the guaranteed road map to success to follow for the rest of 2007:

September - Read WF, BlueHatSEO, and anything else out there that will tell you the fundamentals. Basically, figure out the basics of some of the things that people are doing.

October - Pick two of those basic things, such as the ones that m0rtal posted and try one or two campaigns in each. Fail. Learn from you mistakes and then fail again. Do that until you succeed.

November - Do it more.

December - Do it more.

Easy, right? No it isn't. But it gets easier when you start doing it and learn what works.
 
You got a pretty shitty attitude for someone who claims to want to make money online. The whole role of an entrepreneur is to take risks other people aren't willing to take. It's fine if you're not willing to risk your money or time, but I'm not sure what you're doing here.
 
I'm here because I want to learn how to make more money online through affialte marketing. I know how to build a webpage, a blog, and how to copy paste urls. What I am looking for are more specific strategies so I can make money without losing too much money. The idea is to make more money than you're spending. So far I haven't found on wickedfire what I'm looking for.

I don't want to take much risk but I would still like to make money online.
 
Wow man, you're a true fuckhead. Let's review the facts:
  • You are an asshole.
  • You don't know shit.
  • You clearly aren't willing to learn yourself, since you're basically asking for people to hand you money.
  • You're very impatient.
  • For some reason, you don't understand the concept of spending money to make money. You also don't understand that you will FAIL and FAIL again before you make any money. And you'll probably lose money while doing so - but you're paying for the experience.
So why don't you get your fat ass off your mom's couch and put a couple hundred bucks into your PayPal account, just to be ready. Then read wickedfire. Read some more. And for the love of god, please don't post.

Once you've got an idea of what you want to do, TRY IT. You're going to fail miserably (you in particular will probably fail more than most). Keep going until you get it, though. Then fine tune your process and repeat.

If you know how to program or something (lol, who am i kidding?) then you've got a head start and can start building things for people. Sell scripts, make databases and sell those...the possibilities are endless. But you probably don't know how to do that, so don't even worry about it. Just stick to your AdWords account.

If you weren't such a cocksucker, maybe people would give you a little more than general advice. But if you want detailed help, you're definitely going to need a major attitude change.
