Howdy,
So recently, I started studying a course on cryptography from coursera online. Its been pretty interesting and showed me how little I actually knew about encryption and online security in general.
It actually made me think back to some of the shady shit i've seen over the years in this industry...like they guy I knew back in mid 2008 hacking weight loss sites mysql databases for client details etc. And the other guy reading a competitors email traffic.
So it got me wondering...considering we are all pretty experienced at digging into other peoples campaigns and niches...how much of an issue is security within online marketing? How much shady shit really does go one that cost people real $$$
I'm sure we all take some basic security measures mainly from trusting the various commercial software solutions...like MD5'ing passwords etc...(which can be broken) but is security something you actually think about for your e-commerce sites.
Anyway if you have any stories about shady security shit happening to you i'd like to hear them. I suspect some of this stuff might be more common than people realise.
