Didn't he have a MASSIVE investor and get lucky... Not to mention, Myspace was already out there. Hell even I ran a social profile site back in my high school WAY before FB, until the school told to me to remove it or be kicked out. (Thanks for that).

I wish people would do more research, kinda discredits the whole article.

But yeah I agree with the college degree, resume, internship, etc. All of it's bullshit people rely way too much on.

Sort of my issue with article too, he sighted some huge names that really I thought hurt the piece more then anything.
 
Interesting, but I don't think it's true. I don't think most hiring managers think like that at all.

In the corporate world credentials are really important, in business and life in general they don't matter.

You think some huge corporation is going to hire some kid out of high school because he works hard and is really motivated over someone who barely passed through an MBA program at an Ivy league school? The resume from the high school kid wouldn't even get looked at.

The truth he failed to grasp is most people desire security, not wealth. People say they want to be rich, but they miss the most important portion of the entire concept. Most people want to be rich, not get rich. Most people are satisfied with a secure, repetitive career that they can leave at the office. For the common man, work is not life it is just a means for supporting their lives outside of work and that is great if it satisfies you. If it's a repetitive office job with decent income you want, college is a great decision. College can also help in later successes, but college alone will never make you wildly successful. That takes something special with or without college.

Lol at the governments measure of unemployment. It's skewed so that it appears to improve when it's actually doing the exact opposite(I'm sure you know this). Anyways, proportionally, I'm sure it's relatively accurate.
