Beyond donations to "fix" racism, dividing people makes them easier to control. Black vs. White, Gay vs. Straight, Men vs. Women, Rich vs. Poor, Christian vs. Jew, Republicans vs. Democrats, America vs. Everyone else... Whatever.

They need to give us all enemies to fear so we fight each other like idiots instead of questioning the real enemy. Divide and conquer.
