Do you guys tell your friends/family exactly which websites you own, or do you just say: im in internetmarketing and telling them, what you do in internet marketing. Like seo for example. But do you guys ever give them exact names of your website??

No. I have found that giving as few details as possible is best in most cases.

You will not waste your time explaining something that they will not understand.

If you explain too much, some people will suddenly decide that it sounds like the perfect (easy) career for them and will want you to show them how.

Had my share of people thinking that it's the easiest job in the world and anyone
can "start today and quit their day job tomorrow."
 
I confidently tell people that I personally know the CEO of googlehammer when talking about IM with friends and family.
 
Nothing good ever comes of giving specific. People will either waste your time, or in the rare occasion that they're actually committed, do their best to 'take their share from your pie.'

Yes, this is so true. Almost everybody has reacted with the "oh, that sounds easy can you show me how" b/s.

As if it's so easy I can just show them what to do in 20 minutes.
 
I am not a shame of what I do. People can think about whatever they want. I see some parts of talking about IM as promotion/advertising. Sometimes, I get people interested in it. It is fun to exchange information with people who are also like minded.
