Slightly unrelated, but has anyone withdrawn any money from mtgox to an European bank lately? 6th or 7th day already and still nothing.
Unless an exchange pays for all the legal standing that is necessary - hundreds of thousands of dollars - then soon Americans will not be able to directly fund bitcoin exchanges from their banks.
This is the beginning of the end of American funding of MtGox. Poker, Intrade, now coin exchanges. Anything that could potentially be used to launder money is going to be dead in the water.

You're right, I didn't hear about the 10 great pieces of Bitcoin news, each of which as significant as the U.S. government not allowing U.S. banks to transfer money to bitcoin exchanges.
Maybe you'd like to share all that awesome news with us.
You know luke, you seem like a pretty smart guy. I am really surprised if your post indicates that you don't think this is not coming down the pipeline. And maybe you dont live in the U.S. or think that U.S. dollar investments are crucial to the future of bitcoin (and you might be right about that) but short to intermediate term, this is a real problem.
