Where's CCarter?

CCarter may not be in this thread, but his presence is strongly felt regardless. It's time to start respecting CCarter's invisible hand, because he's not going away.
Prolonging his ban is a mockery of justice. There is without a doubt some heavy duty lobbying activity going on behind the scenes to try to keep CCarter off the forums.
With more than a couple posts talking about how CCarter pissed off other link sellers - it reminded me of an experience I had. Plus - I get to add to the thread.
In 2003, I was 100% into ecommerce. I stubmed into a great niche - nursing mother products. Before long I was selling a lot of nursing pumps. If you can get them, it's still a great market. My best products, by far, was from Medela. It only took a few months to have two different websites that had combined sales over $180,000 a month. Profit (EBT) was nearly 30%. Life was good.
Since I wanted to save $$$ a week on what it cost to ship the product to me I would drive an hour or so to the company headquarters to pick up the pumps. I did this twice a week and built up a friendship with the warehouse guys.
In 2004 they told me that a couple of different managers had been coming down to check on my orders. They wanted to know how often and how much I had been ordering. My buddies in the warehouse eventually found out that these guys didn't like it that I was selling the product. It turned out that *they* had family members running websites (lame) that also sold the same product. Since I had become the largest independent dealer of their company product their own website sales had plummeted.
I had (honestly) taken sales/money from someone that held a stronger position than myself. By the end of 2004 the company had changed their sales policy as a direct response to my websites and at the behest of these managers. This policy was initially directed at me and was not as rigid as the final outcome. Sort of a shot across the bow - but I was greedy and wouldn't play ball.
Because I pushed hard and wasn't leaving much behind for these other players I eventually lost it all.
I have no idea if this applies to this thread, but it was a learning experience for me... and maybe others.

That's probably my doing, the first time I just "unapproved" the posts and banned OP. Somehow it came back so this time I deleted. We'll see if this lasts. Someone ping me if it shows back up and I'll shake some titties to see if I can figure out WTF.
FYI: there's no war happening, actually there's zero discussion about this currently. He's banned with a reason, it is what it is and we're all on the same page there.
Personally, I'm grateful for what he added to the community when he was active. He just should have picked different berries to sling.

Getting traffic in difficult niches
Get a soon-to-be-famous person to promote your product or website. Partner with networks and companies in your niche.
Permission-based marketing
Disclose what you are going to do with visitors' information; collect more and more information. Use Mailchimp to start with.
Increasing traffic
Use microtags; use PageSpeed add-on; use Web Page Analyzer
However, even after knowing what's in those threads, it's still fun to read those posts again. CCarter knows how to entertain, that's for sure.
