I noticed after promoting a program for about a week or two for a list of keywords that the merchant starts to use the same keywords as I am.
I'm doing PPC Direct to Merchant here where they can easily look at the keywords that are being used, even though the click goes through a PHP header redirect.

Anyone know how I can circumvent this without having to build a landing page?

I'm so sick and tired of having to build up a good list of keywords and then having to watch the merchant suck up all the profits from my hard work.

Don't give the merchant any info about your keywords, take this as a learning experience.

Ya I actually had a AM offer to look at my list recently.

Umm no thanks.... But please give me any lists or pointers you have is what I said to him. It worked and he was not upset.

And eveyone. Google does not offically allow redirects I think. Are you doing this with them? Any problems? I would love to clear the refers too with Google but have not been.

Pretty sure there are CPA companies that do the same thing

Ive also had an AM ask to check out my keywords. Which i declined.

run it through a meta refresh or secure connection as this will usually strip your referrers. Also make sure you're not passing your data in your sub-id. I always swap out words for numbers and track conversions based on numbers then back reference to the words.

age old problem, and no surprise really the higher up in a business you are the more advantage you have.

The problem with php headers is that you are really doing the testing for the merchant when it comes to testing the performance of different keywords unless you strip the referrers information out. You do the work and they get the information in their stats from your work.

If you arent protecting your traffic sources, you arent a pawn, but an idiot. Your whole business is your traffic, you need to protect that with everything you have. If you dont your sponsor program will steal it, and they should.

Yup yup,

That's for sure, meta refresh your links everybody.
I find that's the only way to strip the refer.

I started using PHP header because it was fast, but after this.. I'm never gonna use it again.

Mix your your meta refresh with php and send your subid as a number to the merchant, that way you can track to see which Kw is converting the best on your end only.
