Should the minimum wage be raised?



BTW, if anyone thinks the minimum wage is too low, you're free to open up a business that uses minimum wage laborers and pay them two, three, or twenty times as much. And please no excuses about how you'd do it but only if everyone was forced to do it, too.
 
Having been around quite a few otherwise intelligent academics and others in the social sciences- I understand why many of them support a minimum wage/increase, but I also understand that they are wrong.

..Because they've been spoon-fed pro-state philosophers and economics professors a large portion of their life. I can't wait, and certainly hope for people to realize the insanely expensive college institutions are largely bullshit and look towards other alternatives, such as internet based avenues for learning.

There was a time about 5 years ago that only maybe 2 or 3 guys could have, or would have articulated an argument against the minimum wage on Wickedfire.

I am very proud of many of the responses here. If more people thought like you guys, the world would be a less stupid place.
 
The minimum wage needs to be lowered. It's getting harder to run an efficient sweat shop.

Minimum wage is pretty simple...

It's the minimum amount of money that YOU are willing to accept in exchange for doing
the duties your job makes you do... do you really need the government stepping in and
telling you that you aren't getting paid enough? Pretty pathetic if so...
