White Screen On Laptop.. Any Advice On What's Causing It?

And $300 to fix? Ouch. About a year ago, I was pissed off for whatever reason, and ended up with a broken laptop monitor out of it. Took it down the next day, and I can't remember, but I think about $80, couple hours, and I was off with my laptop with a brand new screen. They even polished up the entire laptop for me and everything.

Yeah, looking around for the LED screen and it's $200 on eBay (17.3" 1080p HD Radiance, etc) .. Haven't really shopped around too much, but seems like HP is pretty cheap/fair on price. I don't think I'll be replacing it myself or letting a "repair shop" do it.. After looking inside, I can tell it's a pain to replace the screen.

(HP built the screen casing like 2mm away from the aluminum body so the bottom half does not remove without removing it from the hinges.. And the hinges don't remove easily. I've prob dissembled 5-6 HP's but this one... it's a challenge.)

Nope, on the HDMI out for the TV. Laptop screen is white 100% of the time.

Ended up snagging a 2nd laptop today, (the same model) in the meantime for $200 more. Which means hopefully this time I'll have one that works correctly when it arrives.. Just couldn't justify spending another $300+ to fix the laptop, waiting 2+ weeks for HP to repair, and worrying what else might be wrong.

Shipping it back tonight. Really disappointing it didn't work out, but it happens..

On a side note, my new Hublot watch arrived today in working and flawless condition. So I'm pretty happy regardless. :)

That's why I stick to known brands from Amazon reputable sellers based in the USA. No refurbished or warehouse deal shit.

Immediately ship the sucker back, for another one or complete refund.
