Snapchat Turns Down $3 Billion

Never even heard of it. It's just another twitter?

Honestly, these tech companies that are making no money but being bought, sold and evaluated at billions of dollars is getting out of hand.

Seriously, just create some stupid platform that lets people post "I ate a sammich and took a dump. - 5 minutes ago by BlahBlah," get it some exposure, sell for a billion, and you're done. It really looks that easy.

Un fucking believable. Really thought they would sell to someone for a cool billion and move on.

inb4 groupon repeat.

Because I don't have some waste-of-time platform for millions of teens to use that I can sell in a year for a Billion. I'm mad, bro. :(

seriously? its a platform to get away from their 40-50 year old parents getting hip-deep in their business on facebook/twitter. if i was that age, i'd say "bout damn time".

It's crazy to turn that down, but I'm not going to be surprised if they continue to raise money at higher than $3b valuation or IPO at more than 3b.

Then do it

Who's wants to start a mobile app with me?

All you do is send a picture of your nipple and rate other people's nipples.
Then we sell to some company for $30 million

these guys are idiots, snapchat is mostly used by teens to send dick/tit pics. So essentially a large portion of content is child porn. They should have jumped on this offer...since Facebook is like the only major player who they'd actually be a huge fit with(FB has been losing this particular demo big time, so they are desperate)

That said, they might not have had the choice. Their latest investment happened just a few months ago at a 800 mil valuation. So most likely the deal was killed by an investor who didn't want to settle for a 3.5x ROI. And since they had multiple rounds of financing, the founders probably lost their majority a long time ago.

The really cool thing about reading a headline or an article is that it gives you a much clearer view of what's going on behind the scenes at a business than the people who own and run the company have.

I'm pretty drunk right now but I'm like 90% sure people said this exact same thing about Facebook. It used to make no sense at all how Facebook could take off and then it did, so I'm guessing these "idiots" who are valuing this company at so much $ know something we don't, like, I don't know, that a huge user base can be snow balled into a massive one and then eventually monetized until the users' parents get accounts and fuck everything up.

That's when I move in with Snapbook or Facechat and make a killing.
