Why do Ancient Egyptian artifacts have the Noses Broken off?



lol what's history honestly matter? I wonder of Egyptians were wondering of neanderthals were racist....

so obvious our brain power & IQ has decreased over time.

The things we focus on...

but in the end.. Egyptians were indeed 'NEgroid' originally. It cannot be broken down by a simple book however. Need some in depth research. My mother gave me lots of books to read as a youth and arguments like this, i know to stay out of them... that's what they taught me...

Then lets not talk about Thanksgiving..... Kids are taught it's a celebration of Native Americans feasting with noble white men after having their entire villages raped, pillaged, and murdered.

Then on the flip side.... there were white people always trying to help push equality & noble ideas but a book never talks about them in history class..

Noses are a fragile part of any statue.
Looking at Roman and Greek statues, noses are often missing as well (also arms / fingers) look at some European churches to look at some more evidence.

The Egyptians weren't sub-saharan. They were Saharan. There's evidence they originally lived in what is now the Sahara, which was green back then (evidence from river beds and fossils) but with increasing desertification, they moved west about 7000BC and settled on the Nile Delta.

They invented their culture by themselves, though they may have pinched ideas about agriculture from the Babylonians and Sumarians (who developed it about 10,000 years ago).

Egypt is the "source" for Mediterranean cultures. The Phonecians (modern Lebanese), the Syrians and the Greeks all copied them. Prior to the Greek encounter with Egypt as migrant workers in the 6thC BC, Greek statues were only tiny things no more than a foot high. After the encounter, the Greeks produced big statues known as Kouri - they have the same stiff Egyptian look as carving from stone without making the statue break due to imbalance hadn't been worked out and it was easier to make them like pillars, and it's clear that they pinched the technique from the Egyptians. The breakthrough by the Greeks for statues depicting movement didn't happen till 500BC.

Sigmund Freud (Jewish himself) even argued that the Jews were actually Egyptian followers of Akanaten. Akanaten if you recall, was the Pharoah who invented a monotheistic religion based on the Aten (the sun), and all went well till he had a bout of bad luck - family members dying, famines etc. He decided that it was all the fault of people not worshipping the Aten properly and carried out a series of murderous reprisals on his own people. The Egytians were so alarmed at this behaviour (untypical of the sedate calm that Pharoahs were supposed to have) that when Akanaten died, they moved the capital back to Thebes from Amarna, restored the old multi-god system each with their own priest (and which gave people the chance to choose which god to patronise according to their personal tastes), and banned Atenism as being dangerous and leading to public murders Akanaten-style.

Freud theorised that there were still some stubborn Aten worshipers remaining despite the restoration of the old system, and they were persecuted out of fear that what happened under Akanaten would reoccur, and finally chased out of Egypt (led out by Moses).

It's an interesting theory and explains how monotheism started, and why the Jews have a founding myth of persecution. But according to Freud's theory, they weren't a different race, they were just Egyptians who diverged religiously.

Anyway, I digress. Modern Egyptians are descended from ancient Egyptians (the DNA proves this). The "black people" Charles Martel mentions on Egyptian murals are the Nubians (modern Ethiopians) whom the Egyptians traded with (but didn't enslave). But both the Egyptians and the Nubians are Africans, they weren't from elsewhere. As for using pictures of Nefertiti to prove Egyptians weren't African - she was a Mittani princess married to Akanaten (the Mittani area is in present day Syria).

There seems to be confusion because there is huge genetic difference in Africa and people look different throughout that continent. But recall that it's the first home of homo sapiens and it is also a VAST continent. You could fit several North Americas within it, and populations spreading out would get isolated and evolve differently according to their particular environment.
 
P.S. I forgot to add - regarding OP's question about why so many statues were defaced - a good chunk of that was done by the Pharoah Akanaten when he was trying to wipe out the old system of religion. And when the old system of religion was restored, statues of Akanaten in Thebes were defaced in turn. Most of the stuff we have of him and his period was dug up from the abandoned city of Amarna which got buried by desert sands within decades of being abandoned.

It's too bad too, because you started off strong at about a 8/10. All of the elements were there and although it wasn't executed flawlessly, by invoking race you earned an extra 2 points to give you a respectable score.

Then in your second post the troll became more obvious because you got sloppy. Still enough to keep the thread alive and to cause minor butthurt, but for the most part I'd say you dropped to about a 5/10.

Then this glorious turd. It's a shame too because you could have taken this thread somewhere but now it's going to take a major effort to resurrect. You're going to need someone else to co-sign your bullshit and come at it from a different angle. Only by taking the thread in a different direction can this thing be salvaged now. This is my exact point... history has been distorted so much that there is almost no point in studying it.

It is common knowledge that the Pequot Massacre led to the “Thanksgiving” festivities, yet this isn't at all the image that were presented with

It is also quite strange that most people believe that blacks were "brought over" into the US from Africa as slaves... When, in reality, blacks inhabited the US long before Columbus set foot on American soil.

In fact, Negro slavery was efficiently established in colonial America because Black slaves were governed, organized and controlled by the structures and organization that were first used to enslave and control Whites. Black slaves were 'late comers fitted into a system already developed.

Slavery wasn't a race thing as it's presented today, it was purely based on class.
 
Egypt is an awesome study.

From my understanding Egyptian dynasties spanned over thousands of years and many different races and people were in and out of Egypt during these times. The Egyptians were clearly not only black, especially the ruling classes, especially during the early stages of Egypt. Another interesting piece is that the Great Pyramid was the first built pyramid and it is by far the most advanced in both scope and precision. The pyramids built after this one, by later Egyptian civilizations, pale in comparison. Even today we would struggle to build this pyramid with all our modern technology and architectural advancements.

18th Dynasty Egypt is especially interesting. You have Akhenaten overturning by force the polytheist Amenist priesthood with the monotheist Atonist priesthood. Then we have all the popular Egyptian names introduced around this time like Nefertiti and King Tut. Now Nefertiti was known as one of the most beautiful women of all the world during this time. And the eldest daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti traveled to Europe and the country of Scotland is named after her. And then we have the Rothschilds financing the excavation of the tomb of King Tut (son of Akhenaten) by Lord Carnarvon. These are all clues to the real story behind Egypt.

Missing noses is one thing... The even more important question is why are all the wealthy kings and queens over in Europe so fascinated with ancient Egypt and Egyptian symbolism?
