Trying to find a tool that estimates traffic of a competitor site. Basically, I want to know how many more visitors they are getting than I am.

Holla if you fit'n to help out :glowingeyes_sml:

Bro, what have you been doing here since 2011?
Also, wrong fucking section.
Check out Compete and QuantCast for estimates. 2x-3x that amount is usually the rule of thumb.

You're welcome :)

There is Quantcast.com but I don't think they are that accurate. They show mashable with 2.8mil/month visitors which is way less than what mashable has.

Could be useful in some cases but you can't know when they are accurate or not. If there is any other tool I'm looking forward to it.

Without actually having an inside line on their analytics nothing will be accurate. All these companies are just guessing, but it can be a good reference.

If you're getting 2000 hits a month according to quantcast and your competitor is getting 4000 then you can bet that they're getting double the amount of traffic than you. Doesn't matter if you're actually getting 4000 and they're actually getting 8000, you still suck compared to them.

This depends on what you intend to do but a tip would be to contact the site and act as an advertiser. They'll be happy to let you know their stats.

LMAO.. great response (expected one person to be a dick). I am completely aware of QuantCast (but I deserve the response since it wasn't mentioned).

FYI: That shit don't work for smaller sites. I make money on all the pennies... which equal dollars.... and add up to be houses, cars, and expensive excursions.. :bootyshake:

Thanks, and yeah.. who knows how accurate it is.. I used to have a formula I used when the keyword tool was around that was within 15%, but obviously that's dead :(

Check quant cast, Semrush, etc's estimates against your data from your sites. See if there is a trend with the % off and apply to competition. Ain't perfect, but as everyone said, these tools are all guesses... Which may or may not be more accurate than what their advertising sales team tells you
