Things have been silent since Epic stopped working with Accord Associates to attempt (what a joke) to settle with publishers that were owed money. Has anyone been able to get a response from anybody at Epic? Anyone following up with a lawsuit, or further legal attempts?

Dunno anyone who pursued them legally and had any success

I had to drop dox on matthew mirman and a few other people to get my wire.

To my knowledge alot of the employees jumped ship to a company called kinetic social.

I received about 1% of what they owed me. Emailed them but never received a response.

I received a few hundred dollars out of the nearly $20k that I agreed I'd settle for. Their phone numbers are dead, nobody responds to the email address that Accord forwarded on, they're likely not in their office space anymore (since Kinetic is now in another building), and any contacts I had there are now at other companies.

I assume they haven't filed bankruptcy, since I haven't received any notice about being a creditor in a bankruptcy, and can't find any legal documents on that.

Did you not realize the tactic they used? They got you to give them time to wind down the operation. They settled the FTC so it wouldn't follow to kinetic and now it's over, everyone for paid 1% to stop lawsuits and buy time to shut it down and move to kinetic without issue

Some of you never see the long term play you should have sued them would have had better odds

This.

That 'free' trip to the playboy party was pretty fucking expensive.

I got a Notice to File Claims letter from the NY State Supreme Court today regarding Epic Media. It's addressed to my now-defunct LLC as a creditor.

They owed me about $50 so I probably won't bother sending back the paperwork. Did anybody else get this?

Back in September I had received a "Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors" notice/form from a law firm working on Epic's behalf - Did you receive that, as well?

I'll be watching the mail for the NY notice, as I'm not sure what happened with the last form. Guess it finally went to bankruptcy?

Has anyone tried to get money from Copeac?

They owed me high x,xxx.

Mostly forgot about it and moved on...

I got the notice from NY Supreme Court as well but I'm one of the lucky people who was paid in full just before they shutdown

Looks like they need the same information that was submitted on the last form, just notarized.

Received the "Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors" form too. I wasn't owed anything before they failed. Wondering why I would be sent the form. Did every single publisher (I believe they had like 50k+ affiliates) receive this form?

TIA

Which part is suppose to be notarized? Is that a separate form?

Had to attach a statement of claims to the form they sent (just attached a screenshot from their interface, a brief description, and a record of payments already made via Accord Associates), and got that notarized. Hope that's all they needed.

How do you get your owed amount through that bankruptcy firm? I have been getting a ton of mail from them so I am assuming I am owed something but I want to know if it's worth pursuing..

You need to submit a notarized claim of what you're owed (so, documentation of some sort) to the NY Supreme Court for the bankruptcy case. Pretty much what their law firm collected originally, just notarized this time.

Around :)

Thanks for the info, I doubt I am owed anything I got out before the whole fiasco.

Sorry for the bump, but I do think this is a pretty ongoing thing.
