Damn, i loved him in capote and synecdoche new york ...he was also in one of the best films ever: Happiness

He was raw in everything he did, from serious roles, to intimidating roles, to silly roles.

"YOU CAN'T BE BOTH JESUS AND JUDAS, SANDY!"

This poses a problem for the next Hunger Games, since he played such a prominent and on-going role in the 2nd. Whack, I was looking forward to more of his awesomeness.

RIP bro. Addiction sucks.

Yeah, loved him too, thought he was a brilliant actor. Kind of hard to explain, but to me, he made "ugly" cool.

Sad news. Really enjoyed the parts he played. One of my favorite rolls was the thug phone sex kingpin dude he played in Punch Drunk Love with Adam Sandler. It wasn't a major part, but it was classic PSH.

At least according to IMDB, the first half of book 3 is in post production and the second half is listed as filming. So hopefully most of his parts have been filmed for the last movie, if not I’d imagine they’ll CGI him in as long as there aren’t too many scenes left of his to shoot.

Heroin/opiate addicts can actually function quite well as long as they have a steady supply of consistent quality and they do a good job of dosing and watching their tolerances. Dude had plenty cash, prolly best supplier, but he overestimated how much he could do. I believe article said he went to rehab for a while last year (had 23 years clean before that) so it sounds like he started dabbling again. That is the most vulnerable time for a heroin addict is when they first get back into it again. They think they can do a lot like they used to, but their tolerances are low so they do a nice size shot and end up ODing and going into respiratory arrest. If they are alone, it's a crap shoot whether they can start breathing again on their own. It's also good to keep a vial of Narcan on hand so a friend or fellow user can bring you out of an OD instantly. Shooting heroin alone when you're just getting back into it is a big risk.
