I highly recommend you pick up the old WF classic cashvertising. Read the actual book and not just watered down summaries. It has a fuck ton of copy gems.

He's right, so many of them use too much copy. And in IMHO, too many people who write long copy market hard and don't entertain. Good long copy should be fun to read.
I disagree with you here, unless it's not selling, you can never use too much copy.
I do agree with you here, I use a wonderful thing called "infotainment" to keep eyeballs glued
Forbes magazine has a lot of interesting examples, many of which span two pages. Although "long copy" might not be the immediate term that leaps out at you, I think they definitely count. If not that, they are sometimes very good examples of "education-based" marketing.
