How do I fix this PayPal issue?

When I first started doing online stuff, I wasn't 18, and I set up my PayPal in my dad's name. Everything is in his name... the actual name, address, and even the social connected to the account.

This worked for a while because I was doing mostly stuff outside of PayPal and getting paid through wire/check, but now that I am receiving a notable amount through PP, I want to have everything in my name.

Would the best course of action here be to

1) create a brand new account or

2) call PayPal and explain the situation?

I am currently accepting payments through the account in my dad's name so I don't want any hiccups. Anyone have experience with this? The obvious answer seems like #1 but I am a little wary of creating a new account on the same IP - I don't want to have to do anything remotely "stealth" with the account.

Thanks!

Just signup for PayPal again. They do allow for two people in the same household to have an account.

You're allowed to have 2 accounts per household as previously mentioned or 2 account being one for yourself and one for your business.

Create a new business PayPal under your corporation's name just to avoid any conflicts.

Paypal will not let you change the name of the account. They will however let you convert any personal account to a business account. Assuming you have a business you own 100% of this should take care of everything for you (and you should be doing everything through your business anyways).

What happens when you sell a business? What happens to the paypal account using the shop name and their email domain as login?

Can paypal deal with that or you have to create a complete new account and close the old one? Can be tricky for a good running business.

Bro's if you got a perma frozen account in the past, can you make a biz paypal that wont need your social that can be fully verified?

I went ahead and created a new one, everything is all set.

wow.........

See! I told you guys we have the target demo for those banners here

Ha, I doubt you fuckheads have ever had troubles with PP... a couple of months ago they thought me and a completely random person were one and the same, causing me hours of trouble getting it resolved and money lost. That was just one issue I've had over the years. It made sense to start this thread to make sure even if it makes me look like a total noob.

Your best bet would be to simply cancel your account and find another merchant processor. Or you can follow some of the advice listed above, and I will just look forward the day in the future when you post a thread about how paypal fucked you over.

If you're doing that much volume to the point that someone is interested in purchasing your business, you most likely wouldn't be using paypal to process CCs anyway.

And if you are using paypal, you would probably have access to a good customer service rep who would make the transition as smooth as possible.
