I was wanting to make a landing page that has some preselling copy on it and and wanted to set up an iframe right under the content with the merchants product page redirected through my affiliate link so the visitor doesn't have to click through a link at all.

I tried it but every time I load the page the browser keeps saying that it prevented a pop up. It only says it when its an affiliate redirect. If I use a regular URL to the page it doesn't say anything. Is it preventing the cookie from setting somehow or should I not even worry about it?

What shows up in the iframe? I would guess it's an issue with an iframe containing a source url that redirects, though I could be wrong.

The iframe actually shows perfectly fine. It's just the pop up block notice that I keep getting. I didn't know if it might be blocking the cookie at all.

CJ's TOS prohibits the use of iframes for ANY merchants on its network.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised by that at all.

Is there really any way for affiliate networks or merchants to really track that though?

Yes. Networks can see where all traffic originates, and if they suspect something is up (like a low conversion rate, with many clicks, as usually happens with iframes), they'll find out.

CJ sent me a "stop it, or else" type email when I was doing it with a subdomain to eBay service I've got (2eb.co.uk). I just made the links non-aff, still not got around to changing it, but this thread has reminded me - cheers!

What you really meant to say was...

CJ's TOS prohibits the genuine reporting and payouts of affiliates.

If you're a little guy you get shit service and if you are doing volume they fuck you over. Can't win, can ya?

Seem CJ & eBay are made for each other really - both have got such a hold on their market that they don't have to worry about the little things like looking after the people that pay their wages.

You guys really have had that bad of service with CJ? I haven't had any issues with them so far. I haven't used them all that long though.

What networks that deal with hard products have you guys have the best results with? Linkshare? Amazon?
